(Minghui.org) A 56-year-old man from Guangzhou City, Guandong Province went missing on March 7, 2016. His family suspects that he might have been arrested for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin and charging the former Chinese dictator with launching the violent persecution of Falun Gong.
Mr. Qiao Guangqing's sudden disappearance was preceded by a police visit to his workplace on January 15 this year. Four officers suddenly showed up at the Guangzhou City Disabled People's Association and demanded that Mr. Qiao write statements to invalidate his complaint against Jiang, threatening to detain him at a local brainwashing center if he did not comply.
For refusing to renounce his faith in Falun Gong, Mr. Qiao was twice given forced labor in the past, for a total of 45 months. During his detention, he was subjected to long-term sleep deprivation and forced to watch propaganda videos demonizing Falun Gong. His workplace also stripped him of fringe benefits available to government officials.
The local police went to harass Mr. Qiao at his home and workplace many times after he filed his complaint against Jiang in 2015. He failed to return home on March 7 this year, and his family has not heard about his whereabouts since then.
