(Minghui.org) I was shocked to read the recent notice from Minghui Editorial Board, “Shen Yun Performing Arts to Stop Providing DVDs to China this Year.” I thought about it for a long time, and last night the word “Shen Yun” came to my mind many times during my sleep.
I know many practitioners have similar feelings: sadness, sorrow, and regret. I would like to share my understandings.
Shen Yun Is Precious to Me
I love Shen Yun. From time-to-time I watch the Shen Yun videos, and each time I gain new understandings.
Master said,
“I’m trying to convey that the wonderful result brought about by the performance, on top of which there is assistance from divine beings, is not something ordinary people could achieve—much less emitting energy that’s permeated with Zhen Shan Ren. Such is the righteous energy contained in every piece that is danced, every word that is sung, and every note that is played; even the colors on the stage emit positive energy.” (“Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa”)
We know that Shen Yun is very powerful and that it has become one of the main approaches to save people. When my wife's friend came to visit us in 2014, she liked Shen Yun so much she that she didn't even want to take a break to go to the bathroom. She had appeared tired when she arrived at our house, but after watching the video she was much more energetic. There is no doubt that Shen Yun gave her inspiration and hope.
Degenerate Notions
According to the notice, “...a large number of practitioners have taken Shen Yun DVDs and other video files outside of China – DVDs and video files that were authorized and specially made for people in mainland China where the live performances cannot be seen; and … these people's behavior, acting on their own will, has interfered with the efforts and goals of Shen Yun Performing Arts;”
The Shen Yun DVD covers always have the words “limited to mainland China only.” Why did these practitioners ignore this and continue to do things at will? Whether it was due to their strong egos or other excuses, such behavior should not belong to practitioners.
Everyday people care about their own material interests, while we practitioners should achieve selflessness through cultivation practice. We should act based on Fa principles and let go of these degenerate human notions.
Learning from the Lesson
As Fa-rectification Period Dafa Disciples, we can only save people if we cultivate ourselves well. Cultivation practice is serious and we have to achieve the requirements set for us by the Fa.
In “A Heavy Blow” in Essentials for Further Advancement, Master wrote,
“Without listening to me or following the requirements of Dafa, how could you be my disciples? Isn’t this going against Dafa? If this isn’t an act of harming Dafa, what is it? My disciples, you shouldn’t always be unaware of these things until I point them out. In fact, everything is included in the Fa. Why not read the books more? I suggest that everyone set his mind to reading ten times the book I wrote, Essentials for Further Advancement, which you call scripture. When your mind isn’t at peace, studying the Fa is not effective. You should study it with a peaceful mind.”
We must take this issue seriously and be responsible to ourselves.
After reading the notice from Minghui Editorial Board, we can reflect on what has happened and why it happened. Regret will not help much, but we must learn from this, recognize our loopholes and fix them.
