(Minghui.org) Four Tianjin Falun Gong practitioners were recently illegally arrested for hanging banners with messages of well wishes for the New Year together with information about Falun Gong. One of the practitioners is Ms. Wang Sirong, the mother of a U.S. citizen, Ms. Xu Runtao, a Falun Gong practitioner in Washington, D.C.
The practitioners hung the banners on February 8, 2016 near the area of Wangdingti, where they were filmed by surveillance video and later arrested since the banners contained information about Falun Gong.
The four practitioners included Ms. Wang Sirong, Ms. Li Xiaohe, her daughter Ms. Li Xiaoxiao, and Mr. Xing Wei.
One of the four, Ms. Wang was arrested on February 13 and is being held in Nankai District Detention Center.
The daughter in the United States is very anxious about her mother's situation. In Washington D.C., she and other practitioners have worked hard to raise awareness of her mother's unlawful detention and to call on governments around the world to speak out and oppose the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Two more of the four, Ms. Li Xiaohe and her daughter Ms. Li Xiaoxiao, were arrested on February 11.
Ms. Li Xiaohe was once illegally detained and held in a forced labor camp for practicing Falun Gong. Her daughter Li Xiaoxiao, a college student, suffered tremendous anguish when her mother was sent away. Now, it is the beginning of a new semester, but Ms. Li Xiaoxiao is unable to go back to school.
The last of the four, Mr. Xing Wei, was arrested on February 22. His parents are both almost 80 years old and in need of daily care. His mother is often ill and has insomnia. Now that Mr. Xing was arrested and his home ransacked, his parents are very worried about him.
Banners Announce Good Wishes for the New Year
On February 8, the day of the 2016 Chinese New Year, many people who passed by the bridges around Wangdingti, saw banners with well wishes from Falun Gong practitioners for the New Year.
These banners included such messages as, “Dafa Practitioners Wish the People of Tianjin a Happy New Year!”; “Remember Falun Dafa Is Good!”; “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Good!”; and “Treat Dafa Kindly—Heaven Will Reward You With Happiness and Peace!”
