(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Wenru from Harbin City was arrested on November 9, 2015, for urging the police to release her father. She has been illegally detained since then and is now facing trial.
Ms. Liu's 65-year-old father, Mr. Liu Qingfu, was arrested on September 24, 2015 in Xuejiazhen in the Daoli District. He, along with Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhu Qiangong, Ms. Liu Shuhua, and Mr. Gao Yulin, were distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. All four are detained at the No. 2 Detention Center in Harbin.
Ms. Liu went to the Daoli District Domestic Security Division multiple times to urge them to release her father. The police officer in charge of the case continually avoided her. Her persistent visits angered Wang Dianming, chief of the Domestic Security Division.
Wang Dianming called Ms. Liu on November 9, 2015, and claimed that he wanted to talk to her. But she was arrested when she arrived. She was taken to the No. 2 Detention Center in Harbin and has been held there ever since.
Ms. Liu met with her attorney on March 3, 2016. She learned that she was being accused of "using a cult organization to sabotage law enforcement," a charge often used by the Chinese Communist Party to wrongfully sentence innocent Falun Gong practitioners. They charged her for filing a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999.
