(Minghui.org) I had run a little convenience store for a few years, and during that time, I've encountered people of different stripes, from the former owner of the store to my neighbors. I tried to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and used every opportunity to tell them about Falun Dafa and its persecution. Many of my neighbors were moved by my morals, and some of them even received blessings after standing in solidarity with Falun Dafa.
Buying the Store
I bought this convenience store in 2005 with a loan. I paid for the store and the left-over products with a lump sum after I heard about the former owner's tough financial situation.
She took away many of the store's items that I paid for and didn't give me the tobacco license that she promised. Furthermore, she opened a retail kiosk across the street, which directly competed with my store.
I felt wronged. Since I was new in the neighborhood, I felt financial pressure as well. However, I reminded myself that I am a Falun Dafa practitioner and I should not think too much about my personal gain. Instead, I should be tolerant.
Some neighbors felt that I was treated unfairly after they heard what the former owner did. I used these opportunities to let them know that I practice Falun Dafa and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
I told them about how the communist regime persecuted practitioners like me simply because of Falun Dafa's popularity and how the practice helps keep me in perfect health. I told them that I had been suicidal after my husband's death; I had nothing left to live for, and my life was too difficult due to my bad health. Falun Dafa helped bring me back from the brink.
I said that if I had not been a Falun Dafa practitioner today, I would seek a fight with the old owner for sure.
More and more neighbors heard about my story and sympathized with me. Some called me “Falun Dafa” and some would shout “Falun Dafa is good” when they entered my store. I always told my customers about Falun Dafa and would send them off with reading material.
I sold my products at a good price and treated my customers with honesty and sincerity. With my good reputation, I gained more and more regulars. The store became very profitable and I was able to free more people from the propaganda of the communist regime.
Refunding
One day, a neighbor stopped by with a big bottle of soybean oil. She complained that the soybean oil was spoiled and argued with me. I knew that she had bought a bottle of soybean oil from my store a couple of months back, but I had confidence in the quality of my products. I knew that this bottle was not from my store.
I calmly told her that I followed the principles of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” in my daily life and I would never sell anything spoiled. But I would be happy to refund her if she insisted it was from my store. She took the money without saying “thank you.”
One of my neighbors actually saw her bringing over the bottle of soybean oil from another store instead of from her home. When she heard what had happened, she was very moved and told many other neighbors about my kind deed.
Neighbor's Successful Brain Tumor Operation
My upstairs neighbor Xiao Fang had a reputation in our neighborhood for being a rude and unreasonable person. She once made a big fuss when my husband reminded her to pay for an item she took from the store a few days ago on credit. She would also fight with her family members in public.
Later, I heard that she had a brain tumor, but she was unable to have the operation to remove it because of her heart disease. She had to wait for her heart to be in better condition. I told her to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” so that she might be blessed. But she replied that she did not believe in anything like that.
Before she had the operation, I told her to remember these words again. And as it turned out, she had a successful operation. After she came back, she was very happy to tell me that it was rare for a patient of her condition to come back alive. She remembered the words I told her and sincerely thanked me.
Her personality changed afterward too. She was happier and nicer to people.
Nurse Blessed with a Baby
Another one of my neighbors was a nurse who visited my store often. I had told her about Falun Dafa. After I heard that she had trouble bearing a child after three years of marriage, I told her a story of another lady who had the same problem, who was able to conceive after she sincerely recited “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
The nurse didn't believe me, but I told her that it couldn't hurt to try.
After some time, I saw that the nurse's belly had begun to swell. When her aunt came to my store, I asked her if her niece recited the words I told her. She said that yes, her niece now recites these words constantly.
Bedridden Daughter-in-law Able to Cook
When there was construction going on near my store, many workers visited my store. I always told them to be careful at the construction site and to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” to safeguard themselves.
One of the workers was in his fifties. Through conversation, I learned that his daughter-in-law was bedridden. I told him how I recovered my health through practicing Falun Dafa and that reciting the Falun Dafa blessing words would bring him safety and his daughter-in-law back to health.
Two months later, this man ran into my store, shouting “Falun Dafa is good, my daughter-in-law can cook now!” He was so excited that he kept repeating the phrase again and again. He said that he dared to say these words anywhere since these words brought his family blessings. He even asked me to learn the practice and to get him a Falun Dafa book.
My financial situation is better now and I no longer run that little store. But through all those years, all these predestined sentient beings were brought to the store and they were all saved and blessed by Dafa.
