Additional Persecution News from China – March 23, 2016 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

Ms. Wu Zhiping was arrested by officers from the Dashichang Police Station on June 5, 2015. She was recently sentenced to a three-year-and-six-month prison term.

Ms. Xia Cuilan was arrested by officers from the Longcheng Police Station on December 23, 2015, when she went to pick up the ID card that she had applied for days before. She was detained at the Pengze County Detention Center, then transferred elsewhere on March 8. 2016. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Yang Xia was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Hanjiang Police Station on March 10, 2016. She is detained at the District Detention Center.

Ms. Deng Yunhong was arrested and taken to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center in late 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. Her case was submitted to Shuangyang District Court.

Mr. Yuan Shutang and Ms. Ren Fengqin, arrested on March 18, 2016, are being detained at the Fangshan District Detention Center.

Ms. Qing Lan was arrested by officers from the Xinji Town Police Station on March 20, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being detained at the Liaocheng Detention Center.

Ms. Yan Xiaohong was arrested by officers from the Xiali Police Station in Dianbai District on March 21, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained at the Xiali Police Station.

Mr. Chen Wei was recently arrested.

11. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Shuxia Detained

Ms. Zhao Shuxia was arrested by officers from the Nankai Police Department and Sihuali Residential Committee on March 6, 2016. The police ransacked her home.

She was detained at the Hexi Detention Center, where she went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. She was later transferred to Nankai Detention Center.

Ms. Duan Meili was arrested at home by officers from the Shenjiaying Town Police Station on March 11, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Chen Guizhi was arrested and taken to a police station on March 14, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was later released because she failed the physical examination.

Mr. Shi Xueyong was arrested on March 12, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being detained at the Taian County Detention Center.

Mr. Liu Changwei was arrested by officers from the Douhutun Police Station on February 3, 2016. He was taken to the Liaocheng Detention Center and later returned to a nursing home because he developed high blood pressure.
