(Minghui.org) Ms. Dai Lili filed a criminal complaint on behalf of her husband Mr. Wang Lin against Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party, (CCP) for launching the persecution against Falun Gong in July 1999.
Her husband was arrested seven times and sentenced to four years in prison for practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Dai mailed the complaint to the Chinese Supreme People's Procuratorate and Supreme People's Court in June 2015, calling for an investigation into Jiang's crimes.
Years of Imprisonment and Torture
Mr. Wang Lin was sentenced to four years in prison in July 9, 2014, and is being held in Ward 19 in Shenyang City No. 1 Prison. No family visits have been allowed.
He was arrested seven times since the onset of the persecution in 1999. He was given one year of forced labor in 2004.
Mr. Wang was beaten, put in solitary confinement and tied to an iron chair because he refused to wear the inmate uniform in Jinzhou Forced Labor Camp.
Guard Zhang Chunfeng ordered inmates to tie his legs together, loosen the string a few hours later, and then pull them tight again. After that torture, he could not walk for three months. Even now his knees are still in pain. The inmates also poured urine into his mouth and used dirty toilet tissue to smear feces on his legs.
Financial Loss
Mr. Wang was arrested in July 2001 and April 2004 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. The guards extorted 30,000 yuan each time, before they released him.
Officer Sun Zhi'an came to Mr. Wang's home to arrest him in May 2008, but he refused to open the door. Officer Sun cut open his metal security door with an electric saw. Mr. Wang was detained until his family paid 30,000 yuan.
Background of lawsuit
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
