(Minghui.org) Twenty locals from Qinhuangdao City and its subordinate counties are still in detention for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Thirteen of the Falun Gong practitioners have been sentenced to prison, while the rest are awaiting prosecution and may face a similar fate for exercising their constitutional right to freedom of belief.
All 13 sentenced, except for one, have been transferred to prison at the time of writing.
Zheng Yanhua from Lulong County was sentenced to three years in December 2015, and she remains in a local detention center.
The following 5 practitioners are being incarcerated at Hebei Women’s Prison:
Zhang Xiaojie and Pang Shuyue from Haigang District were sentenced to 5 and 4.5 years, respectively, in September 2014.
Hu Rimei from Haigang District was sentenced to 3 years around March 2016.
The exact sentences of Huang Cuijin from Lulong County and Li Xueying from Haigang District remain to be investigated.
The following 7 practitioners are being incarcerated at Jidong Prison:
Zhu Zhiyong and Liu Mi from Lulong County were given 5 and 3.5 years, respectively, in March 2015.
Lian Baochang and Hua Zhikai from Qinhuangdao City were given 7 and 4 years, respectively, in September 2015.
Dai Zhongmin from Lulong County and Xu Yongfan from Qinhuangdao City were each sentenced to 7 years in December 2015.
Jiao Zhensheng from Lulong County was sentenced in April 2016 and his exact sentence is unclear.
Zhang Dianbin from Haigang District, Qi Guizhi from Haiyang Town, Zhang Xiaona and Zhou Ying from Suizhong City were arrested in late 2015, and they are being held at Qinhuangdao City Detention Center.
Wang Yong from Qinhuangdao City was arrested in April 2016 and is now held at Funing District Detention Center.
Lang Shuying and Yang Jinlan from Changli County were both arrested in December 2015, and their detention locations remain to be investigated.
In addition to above mentioned practitioners, at least 4 Qinhuangdao locals remain missing at the time of writing.
Wei Xiyou and Lou Yang from Lulong County, and Zhao Bingzhen and Zhang Weijin from Changli County were all arrested for their faith at one time or another over the years. Their families haven’t heard from them since their latest arrests.
