(Minghui.org) My son-in-law’s older brother, who is the chief of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, came to visit us during the Chinese New Year last year. I knew it was not by accident, that he was a predestined person to be saved.
Just before we met, I sent righteous thoughts. I then asked him how he would treat Falun Gong practitioners. He replied, “I will get involved if I come across any.” I asked, “Are you going to take control of me?” He smiled and said no.
When I added, “Don’t even think of it!” he smiled again.
I said, “You should withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). What else is more important than your life?” He agreed and said, “Okay, I quit.” His family member was a CCP member as well. They both quit.
I once saw a policeman in the square. I glanced at him a few times, and he kept looking at me, so I walked over and asked him if he was on duty. “Yes,” he replied, “it’s my shift.”
“It must be exhausting. Aren’t you retired?” I said, making conversation. He replied, “I retired a long time ago. I am helping out at the local police station.” “So are all of you CCP members?” I asked.
He said, “I became a CCP member when I was studying at Northeast Military Police University.” “Do you think the CCP good or bad?” I asked. When he replied, “Neither,” I continued, “Do you know about withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations so that you will have a safe and secure future?”
He said he did, so I asked him if he wanted to quit the CCP. He said, “The police are no different than anyone else. If you want me to quit, then I shall quit.” I asked for his name and he quit the CCP.
There was a police officer at a bank. I went to his place and talked to him about withdrawing from the CCP. He agreed to quit.
During those years, I didn’t have any printed truth clarification materials to give out. I just wrote my own notes and put them in public places and bicycle baskets. I had the attachment of fear and was afraid of being seen. I was afraid of revealing myself as a Falun Gong practitioner in public. One summer evening in 2000, the electricity went out. I went to the neighborhood committee to find out what had happened.
They told me it was because I was a Falun Gong practitioner, that I would have to go to the police to get written permission if I wanted to have my electricity back on.
I went to the police department the next day. I found the chief of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and told him the details. He said something that I still remember very well, “You are really powerful. You are like a lion.” He gave me the written permission.
