Additional Persecution News from China – June 16, 2016 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Aihua Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Aihua was sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Heping District Court on June 13, 2016. She is being held in the Shenyang City Detention Center. She was arrested in November 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

2. [Longjiang County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhan Shufen and Ms. Li Aiying Taken to Prison

Ms. Zhan Shufen and Ms. Li Aiying were each sentenced to four years in prison. Both were taken to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison on June 8, 2016.

3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Yabin Arrested

Mr. Wang Yabin was arrested at another practitioner's home while they were studying Falun Gong teachings on June 13, 2016. Officers from the Wenhua Police Station in Nangang District made the arrest. He was held in custody.

4. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Meitang and Wife Ms. Qi Anzhi Arrested

Officers from the Qingzhou City Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office, and the Tanfang Town Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Liu Meitang and Ms. Qi Anzhi in Wujiazhuang Village on the morning of June 12, 2016, and arrested the couple.

5. [Guangling County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Geng Furong Arrested

Ms. Geng Furong from Wei County was arrested by officers from the Guangling County Police Department on June 12, 2016. She was taken back to Datong City.

6. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Liu Xinying and Ms. Kou Qiaoyun Arrested

Ms. Liu Xinying and Ms. Kou Qiaoyun were arrested on June 12, 2016.

7. [Yichun City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Yu Wuping Detained

Mr. Yu Wuping was arrested when he was distributing Falun Gong informational DVDs on June 10, 2016. He was held in a detention center.

8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ji Fenglan Detained

Ms. Ji Fenglan from Huaiyin District was arrested at her office on May 12, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. She was taken to the Xishichang Police Station and detained for five days.

9. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Su Chunxiu and Ms. Wei Fanjuan Detained

Ms. Su Chunxiu and Ms. Wei Fanjuan from Shizhong District were arrested on June 12, 2016, when they were talking to people about Falun Gong. Both are being held in the Guihualou Detention Center.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Wenjun and Ms. Guan Xin Detained

Ms. Sun Wenjun, Ms. Guan Xin, and other practitioners were arrested by plainclothes officers on June 7, 2016, when they were distributing Falun Gong informational brochures. They were taken to the Liuyinglu Police Station, and later taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for 10 to 15 days of detention.

11. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jun, 38, Ms. Zhou Huali, 35, along with her husband Mr. Wang Hua, were arrested on the afternoon of May 24, 2016, by Wang Bingxin, deputy director of the Tiaoshi Town Police Station, and other officers, while they were telling people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Yudong Detention Center.

12. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Bi Guiying Arrested

Ms. Bi Guiying was arrested on the afternoon of June 14, 2016, by officers from the Xingdong Police Station, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.

13. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Weifang, Ms. Yu Chunfeng, and Ms. Zhang Zhilian from Zhuqiao Town were arrested on June 13, 2016, by officers from the Laizhou City Domestic Security Division, when they were talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang was released that day for health reasons. The other two were detained for 12 days.

14. [Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Wang Xing Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Xing from Guangfeng District was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by the Guangfeng District Court for suing Jiang Zemin. He was taken to a prison on June 15, 2016.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Leng Hairu Abused in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Leng Hairu, in his seventies, from Qingshan District, was arrested by officers from the Qingshan Police Station on April 28, 2016. He was taken to the Laobeihu Brainwashing Center. He was abused mentally and physically, deprived of sleep day and night, and his food was poisoned. His situation is worrisome.

16. [Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wu Songmei Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wu Songmei from Jiangcheng District was arrested at home on the morning of June 14, 2016. She was taken to the Guangzhou Brainwashing Center.
