(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 15 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.
Ms. Xiao Lianhong from the Chaoyang District was arrested on July 21, 2016. She is being held in the Chaoyang District Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Xiaoxin was sentenced to three years in prison. She is now in Gongzhuling Prison.
Ms. Yu Aiji was being held in the Songyuan City Detention Center, but her current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Duan Zhaoxia and Mr. Hu Guozhi from Helong Town were arrested on the morning of July 21, 2016. Both practitioners are being held in the Nong'an County Detention Center.
Several people from the Yunmeng Lake Management Committee broke into the homes of Mr. Wang Xiaoying and Ms. Zhou Aifeng on July 22, 2016. They arrested them and confiscated personal belongings. Both practitioners were released after being held in the Management Committee Police Station for one day.
Ms. Li Guifen was arrested when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials on June 28, 2016.
Ms. Wang Jing and Ms. Cui Deying were arrested by officers from the Fushan District Police Department, the 610 Office, and the Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of July 5, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. The two practitioners were taken to the Dongting Police Station and then to the Yantai City No. 2 Detention Center. Both were released on bail after failing the physical exam.
Mr. Zhang Wenxue was sentenced to eight years in prison in the Baiyun District Court on June 27, 2016.
Ms. Li Suling was arrested by Shaoguan City police in June 2016.

Ms. Wang Anxiu has been held in the No. 3 Ward affiliated with the Psychiatric Section in the Jiangning District No. 2 Hospital for practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Chen Yulian from Longfusi Village and Ms. Ma Yingmei from Duzhuang Village were arrested by Song Yan and other officers from the Zhuolu County Domestic Security Division when they hung banners that read “Falun Dafa is Good” on the morning of July 22, 2016. They were taken to the Domestic Security Division of the Zhuolu County Police Department. Their families later brought them home.
Mr. Wang Zhenyu from Lixinglou Village in Huaishu Township was arrested when he talked to people about Falun Gong on July 14, 2016. The police confiscated a computer from his home. He is being held in the Xiping County Detention Center for 14 days.
Mr. Wei Xingzhu was arrested on July 18, 2016. He is being held in a detention center.
Ms. Zhou Jie from the Shahekou District was arrested by officers from the Shahekou District Police Department and the Xinggong Police Station on June 28, 2016. She is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.
Ms. Peng Jie, 67, from the Nanyang District was arrested at home by officers from the Yong'antai Police Station on July 22, 2016. The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, a printer, and a computer. She is being held in the Nangou Detention Center.
Ms. Qu Shurong from Jiangbin County was arrested and taken to a detention center by Wulong Police Station officers on November 8, 2015. She distributed Falun Gong informational calendars on her way to Qiqihar to visit her daughter.

Ms. Sun Sufen, 74, has been denied family visits since her arrest on July 2 for practicing Falun Gong.
Her five children hired a lawyer to get her released. The lawyer was allowed to see her once and learned that the police threatened to give her heavy sentence if she refused to renounce her faith.
Her family recently received her formal arrest warrant, which means she is now facing indictment for her faith.
Mr. Li Hongwei has been formally arrested and is now facing indictment for distributing information exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.
Mr. Li was brutally beaten while resisting arrest on June 26. His wife was also detained for two days.
He has been on a hunger strike since he was sent to Hunnan Detention Center. The guards twice took him to the local hospital to have CT scans. Most recently, they drove him to the hospital on July 13 to be force fed.
Starting on July 14, the guards had a doctor visit the detention center every day to force feed Mr. Li.
His family has hired a lawyer to get him released.
Mr. Li Hongshan has been transferred to Hulan Prison following his sentencing on June 11, 2015.
The former border patrol agent was arrested on August 25, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was tried in May 2015 and sentenced to three years in prison.
This is not the first time Mr. Li has been targeted for his faith in Falun Gong. He was sentenced to five years in 2003 and discharged from the military.
Ms. Lei Yanhua from Chengdu City, 61, had been repeatedly targeted for her faith in Falun Gong.
Ms. Lei was arrested again in February 2016 when she went to visit her old friend in Jiange County. She was tried on May 5 of this year and sentenced to 4 years in prison months later. Judge Yang Baihe refused to give her family a copy of the verdict.
Ms. Lei has filed an appeal.
Mr. Xie Jianping was recently sentenced to 7 years for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. Presiding judge Li Yan admitted he was just following orders in giving her such a heavy sentence.
Only months earlier, the same judge sentenced two other local Falun Gong practitioners to prison, giving Mr. Liu Dianyuan 11.5 years and Mr. Wang Zhiguo 4 years. He also intentionally delayed delivery of the verdicts to the two practitioners' families. As a result, they missed the appeal deadlines.
Mr. Liu and Mr. Wang were transferred to Jinzhou Prison on June 14.
Ms. Jia Xuedong, 25, was arrested on June 13 for talking to her students about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her mother Ms. Zhao Chunxia and her three aunts went to seek her release on June 27 but were also detained.
The Zhao sisters were not given any food that day. When Ms. Zhao asked for something to eat, officer Xue Fengjun handcuffed her and her sisters. He also kicked one of the sisters, Ms. Zhao Guirong, in the face and yanked her handcuffs hard. As a result, Ms. Zhao Guirong suffered injuries to her wrists.
The four sisters were not released until 10 days later. Ms. Jia was released on July 11.
Ms. Tong Liyan was tried on July 14 for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in her past detentions.
Ms. Tong's two lawyers emphasized that there is no law in China that says practicing Falun Gong is a crime, so the persecution is illegal from the onset. As such, their client had every right to hold Jiang responsible for infringing upon her freedom of belief.
The judge adjourned the hearing without issuing a verdict.
Three women sentenced for practicing Falun Gong have been subjected to relentless abuse in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison.
Ms. Li Aiying was restrained to a bed and force fed for seven straight days. She was unable to walk after she was finally unrestrained and had to crawl.
Ms. Zhao Jinxiang was beaten so savagely that she now walks with a limp.
Ms. Liu Yanmei was denied a family visit on July 18. The guards claim that she was diagnosed with a delusional disorder and should avoid being overly excited. They are now keeping her in solitary confinement.
Mr. Dong Haibo spent his first month in prison being tortured on a regular basis.
The Chaoyang City resident was sentenced to 3 years for practicing Falun Gong and transferred to Dongling Prison on April 27, 2015.
It is confirmed that the guards began to abuse him from the first day he was admitted to the prison. They pulled his pubic hair, forced him to drink urine, and beat him in their attempt to make him give up Falun Gong.
The daily torture didn't stop until May 20, 2015.
Ms. Yang Chunxiu was formally arrested in late May of this year and now faces indictment for refusing to renounce Falun Gong.
The 63-year-old woman was home on April 20 when police officers pried open her door and took her away. They also confiscated her personal belongings, including 3 computers, 3 printers, 2 CD burners, and Falun Gong books.
Ms. Yang told her son that the police beat her during the arrest.
This is not the first time Ms. Yang was targeted for her faith. She was already arrested four times in the past and once spent 2.5 years in a forced labor camp.
Ms. Yang remains in Fengtai Detention Center.
Mr. Wu Haibo was sentenced to 5 years for suing former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. He is now appealing the unjust sentence.
Mr. Wu was given two years of forced labor in November 2001 and sentenced to 4 years on January 23, 2008, for practicing Falun Gong.
He filed a criminal complaint against Jiang for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in his past detentions, only to be arrested on December 2, 2015.
He was tried on April 14 and sentenced to 5 years on June 8.
Mr. Qu Yuwu and Mr. Qu Shuwu were arrested on March 11, 2014, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. They were tried without their family's knowledge, and each was sentenced to three years.
They were transferred to Weinan Prison around October 2014.
They were forced to do hard labor for up to 11 hours every day without any compensation. They were only given a meager amount of food, which was sometimes even taken away by the criminal inmates.
Due to long-term involuntary starvation and hard labor, Mr. Qu Yuwu has become emaciated and very weak. His hair has turned gray.
