(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Qu Shuxian, her sister Ms. Qu Shuqiong, and Mr. Fei Xuelong from Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, were arrested in August 2016.
Ms. Qu Shuxian was taken into custody at a friend's house, while Ms. Qu Shuqiong was arrested at work. The reasons for their arrests are unclear.
Mr. Fei had accompanied the father-in-law and sister-in-law of a detained practitioner to the domestic security division to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to the officers on August 8. Mr. Fei did not leave when the police ordered him to and was arrested.
Mr. Fei is about 52 years old. He was a senior lecturer at Yuxi Farming Technology Institute. In 2004, he was reported by another teacher at the institute and sentenced to two years in prison.
He was actually incarcerated for three years, during which time he was severely tortured. Once he was beaten so brutally that he incurred internal injuries. Mr. Fei was too weak to take care of himself and almost died. He was also left jobless after his release.
The Qu sisters are both about 60. In March 2001 they were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center. They were arrested again in 2006 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials and sent to Yunnan Province Women's Forced Labor Camp for two years.
