(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from Vancouver were awarded second prize in the 67th White Rock Sea Festival Parade on July 31, 2016.
Falun Gong was the largest group in the parade.
Practitioners won second prize for their performance.
Elly Roselle, a local resident and author, said, “I know Falun Gong practitioners have suffered in China for their belief. Yet, they stand forward with courage and safeguard their faith with perseverance.”
“I am glad they act upon their principles. I admire them and support them,” she added.
Ms. Roselle said another reason she likes Falun Gong practitioners is because their performance is an exhibition of traditional values.

Ms. Fu, a tourist from China, accepted informational materials from practitioners and took many pictures of their performance. She was happy to see Falun Gong is well liked in Canada and said the group made her proud of being Chinese.
Ms. Hu, who came to the parade with her daughter, was surprised to see the freedom of belief demonstrated in Canada. “This is very different from what is happening in China,” she said. “I like that people here are more relaxed, and they have the freedom to do what they want.”
Mr. Wu is Chinese and grew up in Canada. “These traditional costumes [of the Divine Land Marching Band] and the waist drum team are both part of Chinese tradition. It's great that people love them so much here in Canada,” he said.
