(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners have different ways to talk to people about the goodness of Falun Dafa and how it is persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It is especially effective when practitioners perform kind deeds and then practitioners will then explain to them about Falun Dafa.
By politely greeting people and taking an opportunity to perform a good deed, one can help make people feel comfortable with us.
Offering a Free Ride
A young lady, who was waiting for a bus during a very cold day, looked as if she were freezing. I stopped and offered her a ride, but she waved me off. I told her that I offered her a ride because of the cold weather. She believed me and got in the car.
She tried to pay me, but I told her that I practiced Falun Dafa and that our Teacher Li Hongzhi taught me to be considerate of others. I also spoke of the Party's persecution of Chinese people and many of the CCP's political movements. I then talked about the persecution of Falun Dafa more specifically.
She listened and no longer looked cold and distrustful. By the time I dropped her off at her home, she had become familiar with the facts about Dafa and the persecution.
Offering Ice Cream
I once bought ice cream bars before visiting my mother-in-law. On the way there, I saw that a cement truck had fallen into a ditch, and several people were discussing what to do next. It was hot, so I gave each of them an ice cream bar.
One young man wondered if his supervisor had sent me. I said that I was concerned about them and asked if anyone was hurt.
“I practice Falun Dafa,” I said, “which taught me moral principles. I feel that people should help each other.”
Fixing a Three-wheel Cart
I drove by a village one summer and saw a three-wheeled tricycle by the wayside. The owner was in his 70s. His tricycle had broken down, and I noticed that the chain had come loose. I fixed it for him.
He offered me 30 yuan for my efforts, but I refused to accept it. We made some small talk and I found out that he knew my father.
Six months later, another practitioner told me that she met a man who told her that Falun Dafa was good because his uncle said so. His uncle had said that he did not believe what was said about Falun Dafa on television. This uncle had met a practitioner who fixed his tricycle for free when it had broken down.
“Need to learn more about Falun Dafa”
On my way to a city, a three-wheel cart in front of me tilted to the side. I noticed a flat tire, but I just drove past. I then decided to turn around.
I offered my help to three elderly people. They offered to pay me five yuan; however, I decided that I would not accept anything.
The man told me that people in this city are so good. “When I asked for directions, the man drove me home. Now, I’ve met with you. You are so young, but also so good.”
All three asked me why I was such a good person.
“This is because I practice Falun Dafa,” I said. “Dafa taught me how to be a better person, and that we always need to think of others’ needs first.”
I continued, “You asked me how much I should charge you. Actually, I do not want your money. But you wouldn’t dare to accept my help if I had told you that I am a practitioner. I do not want a penny from you. Nevertheless, you needed my help because there is no repair shop nearby.”
“There are also practitioners in my work unit,” the man said. “I did not understand them in the past, but now I need to learn more about Falun Dafa.”
The women had put 100 yuan on the backseat of my car, which I returned to them.
I followed them for a while because I was not confident in my fixing the tire. The two women called me after they arrived home safely and thanked me many times.
Practitioners Help Without Charging a Fee
On my way home I saw a couple walking by, the man pushing his motorcycle. I saw he had a flat tire. I had my repair tool in my car, so I asked if he wanted me to fix his motorcycle. He asked me how much I would charge. I said five yuan, and he agreed.
The lady was quiet while I was talking with the man, but she suddenly blurted out, “Oh, it's you! I didn't recognize you at first, but now, hearing your voice, I’ve remembered.”
I was indeed surprised.
It turned out that I had given her a ride on a cold day.
The man seemed oblivious our conversation. I chatted with him further and told him that I was not going to charge him after all. I sensed that, if I had told him in the beginning that I would not charge him, he might not have accepted my help.
He asked me why I would bother to help him. I told him that I was a Falun Dafa practitioner, and practitioners always think of others first.
