(Minghui.org) During the early morning hours of September 1, 2016, Ms. Cao Jurong, a gynecologist at Longmen Town Hospital, was arrested, along with more than 20 other Falun Gong practitioners.
Now in her 50s, Ms. Cao was diagnosed with late stage cancer of the esophagus in 2004. Her family spent their entire savings and then had to borrow even more to cover her medical bills. Their oldest child had just graduated from college, and the youngest was still a toddler. Her husband’s income could barely support the family.
The Northern Sichuan Medical School hospital issued notices of critical condition four times, informing the family to prepare for her death. Finally, a doctor told the family to take Ms. Cao home, that nothing more could be done for her.
Ms. Cao’s nephew Cao Chunqiang went to visit his aunt several times. He told her to repeat “Falun Dafa is great, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great” over and over.
Ms. Cao told her nephew, “I will try it for seven days with a pure heart. If I feel it is helping, I will learn Falun Gong from you.”
After seven days of repeating those words often, her appetite returned and she began to eat. Excited about her progress, she kept her word and learned Falun Gong from her nephew. Before long, she was cancer-free. Her family was very happy and supportive of her practice.
Now healthy and happy, Ms. Cao began to tell people how Falun Gong had saved her and that such a wonderful practice should not be persecuted. When the police found out, they arrested her and put her in a detention center. Soon after, Ms. Cao’s nephew died as a result of police brutality. Her family is worried about her safety.
Also arrested on September 1 were the following practitioners from Longmen Town: Ms. Cao Xiaolan, Mr. Hu Xuehua, Ms. Tian Runling, and Mr. Jiang Qiguo. Mr. Wu Qianshan from the Shunqing District was also detained. Ms. Cao Xiaolan’s sister was arrested, on September 7th. One officer said that the latest round of police action against Falun Gong practitioners was related to the G20 meeting in Hangzhou City.
