Additional Persecution News from China – August 15, 2016 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Mr. Yuan Zhiqiang and Mr. Ren Denglong Sentenced

Families of Mr. Yuan Zhiqiang and Mr. Ren Denglong learned on August 13, 2016, that they were sentenced by Jiangbei District Court. Mr. Yuan was sentenced to a two and a half year prison term and Mr. Ren to a two-year prison term.

2. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Mr. Liu Jin and Ms. Zhao Shunu Sentenced

Ms. Zhao Shunu and Mr. Liu Jin were arrested in July and August 2015 respectively for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. They were sentenced in early 2016.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Xiao Wenlan Developing Lung Cancer due to Persecution

Ms. Xiao Wenlan, imprisoned at Songjiang Women's Prison in Shanghai, developed lung cancer due to persecution. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

She was arrested by officers from Hongkou District on November 28, 2013, and later sentenced to a three-year prison term.

4. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Qingying Persecuted

Ms. Liu Qingying, incarcerated at Xinxiang City Women's Prison for many years, has been subject to inhuman tortures. In addition, she had ( blood in urine) many times because the prison guards put unknown drugs in her meals. She is now extremely emaciated due to persecution.

5. [Shanghai] Mr. Huang Naiwei Arrested

Mr. Huang Naiwei was arrested by Huangpu 610 Office on August 1, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Whereabouts of Ms. Li Yuzhen and Ms. Zhang Unknown

Ms. Li Yuzhen and Ms. Zhang were arrested on August 7, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Liuzhi Town. Their whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Jiang Xinmei's Whereabout Unknown

Ms. Jiang Xinmei was arrested and had her home ransacked on July 20, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Aizhen Arrested

Ms. Zhang Aizhen was arrested by police officers from Jiangan District on August 27, 2016. She is held at Chenjiafan Brainwashing Center.

9. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xiang Daoyin Arrested

Mr. Xiang Daoyin, 59, was arrested by Shiyan City Domestic Security Division and staff from the 610 Office on August 10, 2016. He was taken to Shiyan City Brainwashing Center.

10. [Haikou City, Hainan Province] Mr. Sun Tingbai Detained

Mr. Sun Tingbai was arrested by officers from Haikou City 610 Office on July 12, 2016. He is held at the Brainwashing Center in Huatian Hotel.

11. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Mo Yanyan Persecuted

Mr. Mo Yanyan was arrested by officers from Tianhe Police Department and Gangding Police Station on July 20, 2016. He was taken to a brainwashing center. Mr. Mo was taken to a hospital for treatment on August 9 due to persecution.

12. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Mr. Su Yashan Arrested

Mr. Su Yashan was arrested at his daughter's home in Benxi City by officers from Meihehou City on August 10, 2016.

13. [Xinzheng City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Bingying Detained

Mr. Zhang Bingying, 74, was arrested at home by officers from Longhu Town Police Station on August 11, 2016. The police ransacked his home. He is held at Xinzheng City Detention Center.

14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Shen Shuling Detained

Ms. Shen Shuling, arrested on March 31, 2016, is held at Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center. She was subject to brainwashing and the guards tried to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong.

Mr. Jin Yuku was arrested by officers including Fan Hongkai from Domestic Security Division on August 12, 2016. He was detained for 15 days.
