(Minghui.org) As of December 2016, twelve Hebei residents are still being held captive at Shijiazhuang Second Detention Center for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Shijiazhuang City (2)
Mr. Li Yuxin was arrested on December 4, 2013 and later sentenced to 5 years in prison. Shijiazhuang Intermediate Court ordered a retrial, citing unclear evidence that was used in the trial. Chang’an District Court held a new hearing in December 2016, but it hasn’t issued a verdict.
Mr. Jia Maosheng was arrested on August 17, 2016 and indicted on October 27. The local procuratorate returned the case, citing insufficient evidence. The police resubmitted the case in December, without material additional evidence. Mr. Jia’s family and lawyer are requesting his unconditional release.
Jingjing County (5)
Ms. Dong Xinhua, in her 40s, was arrested in August 2015 and tried around March 2016.
Ms. Kong Cuihua and Ms. Li Xiqing were arrested on January 18, 2016 and tried in November. There was a third practitioner arrested together with them, but she has not been identified.
Ms. Gao Chanrong was arrested on December 3, 2016 and sent to the detention center the next day.
Jinzhou City (2)
Mr. Wu Chunran was arrested on June 22, 2016 and sentenced to 5 years in December. He is appealing the verdict. Back in 2008, he was sentenced to 7 years for his faith.
Ms. Cang Miao was arrested on August 22, 2016 and sent to the detention center two days later. She is facing indictment for her faith.
Yuanshi County (1)
Ms. Wang Aishu was arrested on May 30, 2016 and tried on October 20. The judge was Yang Xiaoyong of the local court, and the prosecutor was Wang Jiecai.
Gaocheng County (1)
Ms. Wang Yuexia was arrested on October 21, 2016 and is now facing indictment for her faith.
Xinji City (1)
Ms. Zhang Ling was arrested on August 8, 2016 and tried on December 8.
