(Minghui.org) My Alma Mater held a reunion in September 2014 for everyone who had graduated the same year that I did. I and another practitioner helped many to see through the lies of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
A Classmate’s Amazing Improvements
A middle-aged man walked into the reunion hall with a smile. His eyes sparkled with humbleness and kindness. It was Xiao Zhe! Seeing him with a light and glowing countenance amazed us, and we were curious.
In an old group picture from our freshman year, Xiao Zhe was the rebel: tall, wearing a hat tilted on one side, and looking sleepy.
After graduation, I had introduced a female coworker of mine to him. But my coworker did not like his laziness, and he was overweight. She thought he was a chauvinist and she stopped seeing him.
Xiao is now in great shape, displays refined manners, and all the rebellion and laziness is gone.
The announcer asked everyone to talk about oneself, and Xiao was the ninth speaker. Everyone was looking forward to his stories.
He said that after he graduated, he worked very hard and did not get married until he was disappointed with his career. At home, he was a chauvinist and often got drunk. His wife was ready to divorce him.
Two of his high school classmates died in their thirties around the same time. Their passing shocked him, made him realize life was short, and he started contemplating the purpose of life. He spent a year studying all kinds of religious books, but did not find answers.
He then found the book Zhuan Falun in his bookcase, which was a gift from someone prior to the persecution of Falun Gong. He started reading, and the more he read, the clearer his mind became. He found the answers to all his questions: the meaning of life, how to be a good person, how to be good to others, how to contribute to society, and much more.
He said he found that the CCP’s propaganda on CCTV to be false. For example, the CCP blamed the “self-immolation” incident at Tiananmen Square on Falun Gong. However, according to Falun Gong books, killing or committing suicide is prohibited. Besides, close inspection of the CCP's self-immolation video clips revealed many clues that the incident had been staged.
The CCP media portrayed Falun Gong practitioners to be ignorant and foolish, but Xiao found the principles articulated in Falun Gong books to be very sound and reasonable. He realized that the media's coverage was to instigate hatred against the practice. He decided to take up Falun Gong cultivation in 2011.
He got rid of all his bad habits and became very caring and considerate to his wife. His wife supported him and told him, “You must continue practicing.”
“My mother raised my sister and me as a single mother,” he said, “and our life was very hard. One day, a fortune teller told my mother, 'This boy has protection from a master.' The words encouraged us and gave us hope. I have finally found my Master!”
After listening to his story, many classmates said, “By the way that Xiao Zhe looks, you can tell Falun Gong is good for him.”
I was not surprised by Xiao's improvements, because I am also a Falun Gong practitioner. My own, as well as other practitioners' experiences, have validated the purity of Falun Gong countless times.
Some classmates knew about my own story, including the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and the torture I had suffered for upholding my belief. I gave each classmate a small gift – software that could break through the CCP's Internet blockade.
After listening to my personal experiences and finding out about the current circumstances of my life, my friends from college were relieved. I had passed the national professional exams easily and am now the technical lead in an institute. My family is harmonious, and my son is doing great at school.
One classmate who is an architect from Liaoyang did not take the software. He said, “I don't need it. I have the software and already understand the truth very well. The CCP has propagated a lot of lies. Please help me quit the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers.
Another classmate was the chief architect in a Nanjing company. He said, “Do help me quit the Youth League. I must protect myself. There will be justice for Falun Gong one day.”
A female classmate who insisted on not joining the Community Youth League back in college was widely considered clearheaded and insightful. “I find Falun Gong practitioners to be very kindhearted and noble,” she said. “I understand Xiao Zhe's experiences very much and admire those who uphold their belief! There should be freedom of belief!”
Another female classmate who had come from France had not known much about Falun Gong, because she was busy making a living and had rarely gone out. She was glad that I had explained the persecution to her.
A lady from Shandong Province, a prominent architect, told me that she wanted to learn Falun Gong. She said, “I knew that Falun Gong was good, but I just don't know how to get started.”
“I've read the Epoch Times when I was abroad,” said a classmate, “which says totally different things than the media in China, and I wondered which reports were true. Today, I was shocked to find out what was written in the Epoch Times has indeed happened, and to my classmates!”
When the reunion came to an end, everyone wrote something in my souvenir book. A classmate from Nanjing wrote, “One is rarely awake in life; but when we are awake, we wish to ponder the meaning of life!”
