(Minghui.org) I began to practice Falun Dafa in 1993. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Dafa, I went to Beijing in 2000 to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa. I was detained in a mental hospital and then in a forced labor camp for three years. On arrival at the labor camp, it was discovered that I was pregnant, so I demanded to be released.
The CCP agents did not want to let me go and took me to the Zhibo Women's Detention Center. They were afraid that detaining me might cause me to have a miscarriage, so they demanded that my husband sign a document absolving the detention center of all responsibility if I did miscarry while in the detention center. They showed me the signed agreement, but I was unfazed. I knew that my unborn child and I would be fine and we would be going home soon.
I remembered at all times that Master said:
“No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil’s demands, orders, or what it instigates. If everyone does this the environment won’t be this way.” (“Dafa Disciples’ Righteous Thoughts Are Powerful” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
The detention center officials eventually decided that keeping me there reduced their “transformation” rate, so they released me.
Staunch Party Members Quit the CCP
After returning home from the detention center, the local police wanted me to report to them daily, which I refused to do. They went to see my husband at work to coerce him to make me report to them every day. My husband, already feeling stressed, could not take the pressure and confided in me that he felt suicidal.
I went to the police station and told them to leave my husband alone. Later I called the home of the head of the Politics and Security Section and said to his wife, “Tell your husband to lay off my husband. He is so stressed that he is suicidal. I will hold your husband responsible if my husband hurts himself in any way.” After that they left him alone.
The persecution of Falun Dafa worsened and practitioners were arrested. My husband's temper got worse and everyone in the family feared for my safety. My husband got depressed again.
My mother-in-law, a senior intellectual who received a 10,000-yuan retirement income, was a staunch CCP member. When I was detained, people suggested that she encourage my husband to divorce me. I understood my predestined relationships and was determined to cultivate Dafa. My family members were deceived by the lies generated by the CCP media, but I was not fazed by any of that. I wanted to show them the positive image of a practitioner and demonstrate the goodness that Dafa brings to the world.
A year after my son was born, I lost my job. But then I was offered a more stable job. After that my mother-in-law and my husband changed their attitude toward me.
When my mother-in-law was working on a CCP survey, I asked her to stay away from the CCP. I told her about Falun Dafa's situation around the world. I told her about the CCP's crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Dafa practitioners.
She had sworn at me when she saw the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in my home. Now she recognized just how evil the CCP really was and quit.
My mother-in-law's coworker was diagnosed with cancer and scheduled for surgery. She was a gynecologist and had been the matchmaker for my husband and me. She was very happy to see me when I went to visit her. She said, “I barely recognize you, you look so vibrant. Your mother-in-law often sings your praises.”
I said, “It is because I practice Falun Dafa. My mother-in-law is a nice person, and I treat her as if she were my mother. You know that I have practiced Falun Dafa for many years. You trust me and believe what I say. Your health will improve if you repeat, 'Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good' every day.”
She held my hands and we repeated the words until she knew them well.
I then asked her to quit the CCP, but she was afraid and told me that it was not possible. I said, “Don't worry. You don't need to tell the CCP. You hold that wish deep in your heart, and heaven will know what you did and will protect you.” She believed me and quit the Party.
Husband's Change of Heart
During the Chinese New Year, my husband, son, and I went to Taiwan. Taiwan practitioners clarify the truth about Dafa at tourist sights. When my husband saw that, he changed his attitude of not wanting to talk about Falun Dafa.
At the Taipei National Palace Museum, we went for a bite to eat, and my husband disappeared. I found out later that he had been talking to practitioners outside the restaurant. He could not understand why Falun Dafa was so highly respected in Taiwan. After seeing the Dafa banners displayed everywhere along the roads and at tourist sites, he asked a practitioner if it was legal. He was told that one only needed a permit.
Seeing the practitioners doing the exercises in their yellow shirts reminded me of what it was like for us in China before July 20, 1999. My husband said. “People really do have freedom of speech here.”
Suing Jiang Zemin
Many practitioners sued Jiang Zemin with their real names in 2015. I had mixed feelings about it. Other practitioners encouraged me, but I wanted to wait a while.
I talked it over with my son, a middle school student. He suggested that I had the attachment of fear and said I should file a lawsuit. I realized that a long time stable life had fostered my attachments to comfort and fear.
To get rid of my attachment to fear, I prepared my criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin. After receiving a confirmation receipt for the complaint, I felt stressed. I sent forth righteous thoughts frequently. Master saw that I was under too much pressure and showed me a guardian divinity dressed in an ancient martial arts costume.
Master said,
“My roots are all deeply planted in the universe, and if someone could affect you, he could affect me, and to put it directly, he’d be able to affect the universe.” (Zhuan Falun)
I admitted to my son that I had submitted my complaint. He was surprised and asked me what changed my mind. I told him that I had the Fa in my heart. He decided to also submit a complaint against Jiang.
He wrote in his complaint, “My mother is an honest and kind person. I cannot remember her ever being sick. The management and her coworkers where she works respect her. Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Dafa deprived her of her right to enjoy exercising in the park. She was illegally detained in a labor camp and a mental hospital. China's constitution guarantees every citizen freedom of religion. Didn't Jiang Zemin commit a crime by persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners?”
My son mailed his letter and received an acknowledgment of receipt from the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate. He said that he gave his real name and phone number. When I asked him if he wasn't afraid that someone would find him at school, he told me he was not.
I am so fortunate to be a Dafa practitioner in this life. I will live up to the pledge I made before coming to this world and do the three things well and return to my true home with Master.
