(Minghui.org) After a month of unlawful detention Ms. Gu Lina was released when the Procuratorate of Qikai District, Changchun, Jilin Province withdrew the case on November 11, 2017.
Ms. Gu Lina and her sister-in-law were taking care of children at home at 11:00 a.m. on October 7, 2017 when six to seven policemen from Yingchun Road Police Substation broke into their home. Ms. Gu was targeted because she refused to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Police took away over 20 Falun Gong books, a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, computer, laptop, cell phone, printer, printing paper and copies of the Minghui Weekly, etc.
They arrested Ms. Gu. The authorities claimed that they would let her go home by noon, but they held her until 11:00 p.m. and then sent her to Changchun 4th Detention Center.
A month later her case was transferred to Qikai District Procuratorate. Ms. Gu’s family was looking for a lawyer to defend her, but fortunately the Procuratorate dropped the case before it went to trial.
