(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 were illegally arrested.

1. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Shi Jun Detained for Over Eight Months

Mr. Shi Jun left home over a year ago to avoid the persecution. However, he was arrested at his rental home by officers from the Huangshan City Police Department and the Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of July 1, 2016. He has been held in the Huangshan District Detention Center for over eight months.

2. [Beijing] Mr. Shi Yingji Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Shi Yingji and two other practitioners from Beijing were arrested by officers from the Donghuayuan Police Station in Zhangjiakou City on the afternoon of March 7, 2017. Mr. Shi was brought back by officers from the Yongning Police Station and 610 Office that night and taken to a brainwashing center. The other two practitioners were released.

3. [Chongqing] Mr. Huang Jimeng Detained

Mr. Huang Jimeng, 55, from No. 9 Dashiba Village, Jiangbei District was arrested in early February 2017 for posting information about Falun Gong and the persecution. He is being held in the Fusheng Detention Center in Jiangbei District.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Xiyong Arrested

Mr. Liu Xiyong from Shihe Town, Jinzhou District, was arrested by officers from the Shihe Police Station on the morning of February 26, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated three Falun Gong books; he was then released.

Zhou, chief of the police station, came to Mr. Liu's home again on the morning of March 1. He ordered Mr. Liu to go to the police station to sign paperwork. Mr. Liu was taken to the Sanli Detention Center in Jinzhou District, but the detention center refused to admit him. Mr. Liu was released after the police extorted 5,000 yuan from his daughter.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Guo Yingchun Arrested

Ms. Guo Yingchun was arrested by officers from the Xibinhe Police Station, Miyun District, on March 6, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong.

6. [Chongqing] Mr. Li Zhaozhi Detained

Mr. Li Zhaozhi was arrested and taken to the Wanzhou District Detention Center on February 23, 2017.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Fan Yanqi Abused in Prison

Mr. Fan Yanqi from Jimo City was held in the Shandong Prison for several years. He is currently being held in the Shandong Police Hospital. Mr. Fan refused to wear the prison uniform, in protest of his illegal detention. In winter, he was only allowed to wear a T-shirt. Inmates beat and verbally abused him on numerous occasions.

8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Li Junhong, Mr. Hong Wenquan, and Ms. Liu Yuqing were harassed at their residences by officers from the Fangshan Town Police Station between March 2 and 4, 2017.

The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and a notebook computer from Mr Hong. They also confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and a desk calendar from Ms. Liu.

Officers from the Lijia Town Police Station in Heishan County went to the home of another practitioner with the last name Li in early March 2017. They confiscated several Falun Gong books and a desk calendar.

9. [Shanghai] Ms. Tang Chanqiu Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Tang Chanqiu, in her 60s, from Huaihai Neighborhood, Huangpu District, was arrested and taken to the Shanghai City Brainwashing Center in February 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Shanghai Train Station.

10. [Beijing] Mr. Luo Jingen Arrested

Mr. Luo Jingen, 75, from Chaoyang District, was arrested by officers from the Jiuxianqiao Police Station on March 7, 2017. The officers confiscated 8,000 yuan in cash, a computer, and a printer. Mr. Luo was previously detained and incarcerated in forced labor camps.

11. [Fukang City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Yu Fengling Detained

Ms. Yu Fengling, 66, was arrested in late February 2017. She is held in the Fukang Detention Center. Ms. Yu has been previously arrested and incarcerated in forced labor camps twice.

12. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Ma Xiuhua and Ms. Sun Lingpei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Ma Xiuhua, 69, and Ms. Sun Lingpei, 70, were arrested by officers from the Yijiangmen Police Station, Gulou District, on the morning of May 30, 2016. They were taken to the Nanjing City Detention Center. Their homes were ransacked.

Both practitioners were physically abused and had to be hospitalized after they were released. Ms. Sun has suffered a mental collapse.
