(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhou Yun, Ms. Liang Zhenglian, and Ms. Yang Zaiqiong from Duyun City, Guizhou Province, were arrested by local police for talking to people about Falun Gong on November 2, 2016.
Their homes were ransacked, and they are illegally detained at the Women's Detention Center in the Qiannan Prefecture Police Department.
Since the onset of the persecution, Ms. Zhou Yun, 58, has been detained, had her home ransacked, has faced brainwashing, and has been imprisoned at a forced labor camp.
Below is a summary of her ordeal.
The local police ransacked Ms. Zhou's home on November 29, 1999, and detained her and four other practitioners for 24 hours. The police also issued a restraining order, preventing the practitioners from traveling outside the city.
Ms. Zhou and a dozen practitioners went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing in January 2000 to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. They were arrested and beaten by police. They were first detained in Beijing for two days and then taken to the Duyun Detention Center, where they were tortured.
Ms. Zhou was also detained at the Duyun Detention Center for two months and then sentenced to three years at the Yang'ai Forced Labor Camp.
The Qiannan Prefecture deputy governor, the deputy Chinese Communist Party (CCP) secretary, and officers from the local 610 Office and Political and Legal Affairs Committee arrested Ms. Zhou Yun, along with Li Qiyi, and Ran Suhua in 2004. They took them to a brainwashing session inside the 173 Agriculture School on November 6, 2004.
Twenty police officers from the Duyun City 610 Office and police department arrested Ms. Zhou on May 25, 2005 at her home. They threatened her mother and took Ms. Zhou to brainwashing sessions in the Qiannan Prefecture CCP School. There, Ms. Zhou was physically restrained and forced to watch programs that slandered Falun Gong.
On June 20, 2006, the Qiannan Prefecture Political and Legal Affairs Committee called Duyun City 610 Office director Luo Zhongfu, the Wenfeng Road Police Station, the Qiannan TV Station, and other government departments for a meeting. The party secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee claimed that they identified five practitioners who had mailed Falun Gong informational materials. Ms. Zhou was implicated in the ensuing ordeal.
The party secretary ordered plainclothes police to arrest Ms. Zhou and warned the police to keep the arrest a secret. A dozen personnel from the Wenfeng Police Station, the Duyun City Police Department, and the local community office broke into Ms. Zhou's home at 1 p.m. that day. But Ms. Zhou was not there. They rushed to Ms. Zhou's workplace and arrested her near the Qiannan Prefecture Forestry Bureau. Ms. Zhou was detained at the Lannigou Brainwashing Center.
