(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin Taken Into Custody
When Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin was getting ready to go to work on April 7, 2017, officers from the Xibinhe Police Station in Miyun County broke into her home and arrested her. They ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, books, and materials. Ms. Zheng was taken to the police station.
2. [Beijing] Ms. Cui Guomei Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Cui Guomei, in her 40s, was arrested on March 8, 2017. She was taken to the Nihe Detention Center in the Shunyi District. The guards tortured her. She was shackled to a bed with her arms and legs stretched out in a spread-eagle position for three days and nights. She was taken to the Jiushenmiao Brainwashing Center in the Huairou District on April 8, 2017.
3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Liyan Detained
Ms. Lin Jialan, Ms. Yang, and Ms. Wang Liyan were reported on the afternoon of March 13, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Longtan District. They were arrested by Xin'an Police Station officers. Ms. Lin's and Ms. Wang's homes were ransacked that day. Elderly Ms. Yang was released after 8 p.m. that evening. Ms. Lin returned home at 4 a.m. Ms. Wang was taken to the local lockup and held for 15 days, then taken to the detention center.
4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Chunling in Solitary Confinement
Ms. Zheng Chunling was taken to the Heizuizi Women's Prison in December 2016. Her family was not notified. When they went to the prison to visit her, they learned that she was in solitary confinement.
5. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Xiaohua Arrested Again
Ms. Yang Xiaohua was arrested again by officers from the Guaziping Police Station on the morning of April 6, 2017. They ransacked her home that same day. This was the fourth time that Ms. Yang was arrested and her home was ransacked.

6. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Ms. Wang Xiuying Detained
Ms. Wang Xiuying was arrested and taken to the Suzhou City Detention Center by officers from the Dangshan Police Station on April 2, 2017. Her family was notified that she would be detained for 15 days.
7. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Long Detained
Mr. Li Long was arrested by Haibin Police Department officers on the evening of April 7, 2017, for posting Falun Gong materials. He was taken to the Niuzhuang Detention Center and held for 14 days.
8. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yan Detained
Five officers from the Junan County Domestic Security Division and the Chengdong Police Station went to Ms. Liu Yan's workplace and arrested her on April 5, 2017. They searched her desk and confiscated 3,000 yuan in cash, among other items. They ransacked her home and confiscated a computer and other items. She was taken to the Junan Detention Center for 10 days of detention.
9. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Yue'e Arrested
Ms. Zhu Yue'e was arrested at home on March 31, 2017.
10. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Wang Aiqin and two other practitioners from Gaojia Village in the Luocheng Neighborhood were arrested and their homes ransacked on March 28, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Liulu farmers market. They were released later that day.
11. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Du Zhonghua and Ms. Yang Rifen Harassed
Plainclothes officers went to the homes of Mr. Du Zhonghua and Ms. Yang Rifen in Shilipu Village on the afternoon of April 6, 2017. They demanded to know if they practiced Falun Gong. They took photos inside and outside. They confiscated calendars from Mr. Du and Falun Gong books from Ms. Yang.
12. [Huizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. He Jianru Arrested
Mr. He Jianru was arrested by the Huidong County police on April 4, 2017.
13. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Wu Guangcheng Missing
Mr. Wu Guangcheng went missing when she went out to distribute Falun Gong materials on the evening of April 7, 2017
14. [Jingjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xu Hongling Detained
Eight officers from the Jingjiang City Domestic Security Division and the New District Police Station broke into Ms. Xu Hongling's small store and ransacked it on the morning of February 27, 2017. Afterwards they ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a small video recorder, an MP3, and a DVD player. Ms. Xu was taken to the police station for 24 hours. She was not given anything to eat or drink. She was then taken to the Chengbei Detention Center for 16 days of detention.

15. [Fuping County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Fengzhen Given a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term
Ms. Zhao Fengzhen was arrested on July 22, 2015. She was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison. She is held in the Hebei Women's Prison.
16. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhu Hongwen Detained
Mr. Zhu Hongwen is being held in the Ji County Detention Center.

17. [Luanping County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Rui Detained
Mr. Wang Rui was followed and arrested by Hou Wei, head of the Luanping County Police Department's Domestic Security Division, and other officers on March 29, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials and talking to people about Falun Gong.
The officers ransacked his home that day and confiscated a computer, a printer, and cash. Mr. Wang is being held in the Luanping County Detention Center. When his wife went to the detention center to demand he be released, she was arrested. She has returned home.
18. [Chongqing] Four Practitioners Detained
Ms. Zhao Xiuying and Ms. Su Dailan from the Qijiang District are being held in the Qijiang Lockup Center for 15 days. Ms. Song Zhiyun and Ms. Wang Zhengfen are held in the Qijiang Detention Center.
19. [Qichun County, Hubei Province] Mr. Tian Faqing Held in Suzhou Prison
Mr. Tian Faqing was arrested in Taihu County, Anhui Province, in June 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials. He was give a one-year prison term and fined 3,000 yuan in the Taihu County Court. He is now in Suzhou Prison, Anhui Province.
20. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Meihua Detained
Ms. Zhang Meihua was arrested at the Chengde Train Station on the afternoon of April 1, 2017, for carrying Falun Gong materials. She was detained for 15 days.
21. [Tianjin] Several Practitioners Harassed
Officers from the Daliang Town Police Station in the Wuqing District went to the homes of Ms. Li Shumin, Ms. Zhu Feng'en, Ms. Song Baoying, Mr. Zhang Zhensong, Mr. Wang Zuoxiang, and Mr. Gao Xiangwen between March 28 and 31, 2017. They took pictures and threatened them to try to stop them from practicing Falun Gong. They tore New Year paintings from their walls and confiscated Falun Gong books.
22. [Nanmulin County, Tibet Autonomous Region] Mr. Wang Ruijie Arrested
Police officers broke into Mr. Wang Ruijie's home in Suojin Township and confiscated two cell phones and a computer on April 2, 2017. They arrested Mr. Wang, 26, on April 12, 2017. Mr. Wang's whereabouts are unknown.

23. [Chongqing] Ms. Yao Rongxuan and Ms. Xu Xiaoqin Arrested
Ms. Yao Rongxuan and Ms. Xu Xiaoqin were arrested. Their whereabouts are unknown.
