(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Xingxiang, a Dehui City resident, was arrested on March 17, 2017 after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
She was given 15 days of administrative detention before being placed under criminal detention.
Three prosecutors from the Dehui City Procuratorate interrogated Ms. Wang at the Changchun City Fourth Detention Center on April 27. She emphasized that no law in China criminalizes Falun Gong, and that she had every right to raise awareness of the illegality of the persecution. She also reminded them that any wrongful indictment they may issue against innocent citizens would lead to legal consequences.
The prosecutors ruled days later to not issue a formal arrest warrant against Ms. Wang. They returned her case to the Dehui City Police Department on May 1. Ms. Wang was released the next day.
