(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yurong from Harbin City was arrested on June 19, 2017 for posting Falun Gong informational materials in Hangzou City, Zhejiang Province where she was visiting her son. She was arrested by officers from the Wenyan Police Station.
The police searched her son's home and confiscated her laptop, an iPhone, 1,060 yuan in paper bills with information about Falun Gong written on them, an iPad, a radio, an USB stick, books, and other items. Many of the items taken are her son's personal belongings.
Ms. Wang is now being held in the Xiaoshan District Detention Center. She was put under criminal detention on June 20, 2017.
After former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Wang was repeatedly detained in brainwashing centers, forced labor camps, and detention centers. She was once forced to leave home and move from place to place to avoid arrest.
Ms. Wang was taken from her workplace to a brainwashing center in 2003 and again in 2004. Agents in the brainwashing center shocked her with electric batons. She was also handcuffed between two beds and stretched for extended periods of time. She struggled to maintain her sanity under such intense pressure and torture.
