(Minghui.org) A Shenyang City resident serving time for her faith is always hungry because prison guards are denying her sufficient food.
Ms. Zhang Guijun, in her 40s, was arrested on June 9, 2011 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. She was sentenced to 8 years in prison on February 28, 2012 and is still being incarcerated at Liaoning Province Women’s Prison.
The former teacher at Shenyang Institute of Physical Education has been subjected to constant abuse since her prison admission.
According to witnesses, two inmates were assigned to monitor Ms. Zhang around the clock, not allowing her to talk to other imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners. They cursed at and beat her on a regular basis.
Ms. Zhang refused to do hard labor without pay, and a team leader surnamed Xu ordered that she stay at the end of the line at meal time. There was usually not much left when it was her turn to get food at the prison cafeteria. As a result, she felt hungry all the time and once even fainted due to lack of energy.
She reported the abuse to a prison official, which only led to more abuse.
