(Minghui.org) I am a 45-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner who began to practice 21 years ago. I’ve lived by the Dafa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance throughout all these years, and everything has gone very well. I landed a good job and am very successful and have a happy family life. I have benefited greatly from Dafa.
When my son was a year old, we visited my parents in the countryside. After we arrived, I asked the driver to take me to my older sister's home. To my surprise, my son did not want to get in the car.
On the way home I sat in the back of the car because I was slightly dizzy. After we had driven a couple of miles, the car veered off the road and careened down a slope. I said to the driver, “Get out! The car could catch fire.” Running away from the car, I noticed that the driver was still inside. So I went back, and several passersby and I helped the driver get out. Both of us had some minor injuries but nothing major. However, the front of the car was totaled.
Everyone was glad that my son was not in the car and that I had sat in the backseat. I knew in my heart that we benefited from practicing Falun Dafa.
It was just as Master said, “Whether you come across them or not, I can assure you that you will not be in any danger—I can guarantee this.” (Zhuan Falun)
The place where I worked wasn't doing well in 2004, and employees were getting laid off. The woman who worked next to me had a child. I thought she would be hit harder if she got laid off, so I resigned after having worked there for 10 years.
I was soon hired by a foreign company. The work environment was not conducive to doing the three things, however, so I decided to change jobs. Two months later a practitioner told me about another job opening.
While waiting to be interviewed, I picked up a newspaper and read about China joining the World Trade Organization. That was the first thing the boss talked about during my interview, so I sounded very knowledgeable. I also talked about my prior work experiences. He hired me on the spot.
The other practitioner asked me, “You spoke so well with the boss. How did you know so much?” I laughed because it was due to Master's arrangement.
During the 10 years that I worked there, the factory did extremely well and also went international. Most importantly, while I held that job, many people found out about the persecution of Falun Dafa.
There was a major accident at a job site and one worker died. Eventually his family signed an agreement with the company and the boss asked me to visit them. The family complained about the amount of money they were offered, and they were also upset that the boss himself did not come. Although I wanted to leave, I stayed and listened, because the young man who had died was only in his 30s and had been taking care of his elders and the young people in the family. They were quite poor.
Master has taught us to “not fight back when you are beaten or sworn at...” (Zhuan Falun). So I thought I must endure it. I then remembered that Master told us about the immense power of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, so I recited silently, “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. Master, please help!”
I had not even finished reciting it a third time when one of the relatives said, “Don't swear at them anymore. They are here in our home and are our guests. We are all laborers, and it's not easy for any of us to make a living. Tomorrow we can talk to the boss.” Her husband stopped cursing. The power of keeping Dafa in my mind helped me through the difficulties.
The boss had great trust in me because, as a Dafa practitioner, I live by its principles and am not susceptible to bribes. I was put in charge of the supply and sales department. It is a coveted position because the person can earn extra money by taking bribes.
Although my boss trusted me, shareholders of the factory secretly investigated me by talking to a supplier, who was a good friend of a large shareholder. The supplier asked, “Where in the world did you guys ever find such a good employee?”
They told me about this because they did not want me to find out about it through the grapevine. My boss said, “People with a belief are truly different!”
Sales is often referred to as “riverside” work, because it usually involves going to questionable and indecent places of entertainment. I never invited my customers to such places. When I was obliged to go with them, I found ways to keep from participating in any unsavory activities.
After our business grew, we had customers from overseas and other major cities. When they asked to be taken to such places, I took them to foot-washing salons. I thought that this did not violate the standard of a practitioner.
Master said:
“While people often claim that their scientific pursuits are to ‘improve quality of life,’ it is technological competition that drives them. And in most cases they have come about only after people have pushed out the divine and abandoned moral codes meant to ensure self-restraint. It was for these reasons that civilizations of the past many times met with destruction.” (Zhuan Falun)
After reading Master's Fa, I realized that, even though I did not do something truly bad, it was still “abandoning moral codes.” If everything I did was in line with the Fa, then how could it harm the business?
From then on I only followed Master's requirements, and the businesses doubled every year for the next four years. My income went up when I became the deputy general manager, and my employer even bought me a house.
