(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa was first introduced to my hometown back in 1996. When my husband, son, and I listened to Master Li's nine-day lecture series, we felt that Dafa was good; thus, we immediately began practicing it. Our home soon became a local practice site where many people came to learn about Falun Gong.
In July 1999, Jiang Zemin, the then head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), started an unprecedented smear campaign against Falun Gong
My family soon became the target of persecution in my area. When my husband was arrested, he lost the environment for practicing Falun Gong. He was severely persecuted in prison and later passed away.
I was sentenced to three years of forced labor, while my son was sentenced to more than a year of forced labor. The persecution completely shattered my family.
My son and I now get up at 3:00 a.m. to practice the five exercises. At 7:00 a.m. we go out to clarify the truth, face-to-face and distribute Dafa-related informational materials.
When I tell people about my personal experience with Falun Gong, I can't help shed tears. Many people who listen to me also shed tears and praise Dafa, Master Li, and practitioners.
In July 2017, I clarified the truth to a woman in a business suit. When I handed her a brochure, she refused to take it. “Is this related to Falun Gong,” she asked. I told her that it was and asked what she knew about the practice.
“I had previously read a flier and watched a VCD about the persecution,” she replied. I then asked, “Do you now understand what Falun Gong is?”
“We should look at the CCP dialectically,” she said. I told her: “Falun Gong teaches people to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Wouldn't it be great for our country if people's moral standards improved?”
As we walked, she said that she enjoyed listening to me and that she really didn't have a clear understanding of Falun Gong. So I talked about the greatness of Dafa, the practice itself, and my experience with it.
I also talked about the crimes that the CCP committed during the persecution and the fact that many people were misled by the CCP's propaganda. I also talked about the difficulties that Dafa practitioners face every day in raising awareness of the CCP's crimes against humanity.
As I was speaking, she began to cry. When I asked why she was crying, she said: “Dafa and your Master are truly great! The spiritual realm that Dafa practitioners have reached is so touching. The CCP’s persecution is both abhorrent and evil. It's truly incomprehensible! I can't help crying.”
When I told her about the importance of quitting the CCP, she used her index finger to write her surname on my umbrella. She gave me an alias to use to formally renounce her membership in the Communist Youth League.
Before we parted, she asked me for some Falun Gong informational materials. I also gave her an amulet and told her to remember that “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!”
