(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Zheo Echuan and Mr. Chen Xianzhong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhao Echuan was tried on May 2, 2018, and was later sentenced to a four-year prison term. He appealed to the Guiyang City Intermediate Court, but the original verdict was upheld on November 27. He has been taken to the Jinxi Dispatch Center.

Mr. Chen Xianzhong, 72, was also sentenced to a four-year prison term. He appealed, but the intermediate court upheld the original verdict on December 5, 2018.

2. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Hongzhu's Case Returned to Procuratorate

Mr. Wang Hongzhu, who was awarded an excellence ranking for teaching senior high school classes in the Nantai High School, Haicheng City, was arrested on August 22, 2018. The Haicheng Procuratorate passed his case to the Haicheng Court, but the court recently returned Mr. Wang's case to the Lishan District Procuratorate for further investigation.

3. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Yuzhen's Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

The Yongning County Domestic Security Division has turned over Ms. Zhang Yuzhen's case to the Xixia District Procuratorate.

4. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Hong Detained

Ms. Xiao Hong, from Dongning City, was reported to the authorities on January 16, 2019, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Dongning No. 1 Police Station, and taken to the Dongning Detention Center for 12 days.

5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Xu Min's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Xu Min, from the Baohe District, was arrested on September 22, 2015. Mr. Duan Tianjun, Mr. Dai Jiaqian, Ms. Wang Bilan, and Ms. Wu Yanjiao were arrested with her.

The four practitioners were sentenced to prison on July 13, 2017, but Ms. Xu's whereabouts remains unknown.

6. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Pingguang Taken to Prison

Mr. Wang Pingguang was arrested on May 4, 2017, for hanging “Falun Dafa is Good” banners, and was held in the Bayuquan Detention Center. He was sentenced to two years in prison on November 10, 2017, and taken to the Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City at the end of 2018.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Ximei Detained

Ms. Zhang Ximei was arrested by officers from the Jiannan Police Station in the Jingxiu District on the afternoon of January 17, 2019. Her Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

Ms. Zhang was taken to the Qingyuan Detention Center the following afternoon.

8. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Chunxiang Detained

Ms. Zhang Chunxiang was reported to the authorities when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of January 17, 2019. She was arrested by officers from the Fusong Town Police Station, and was detained in Baishan City. Her family was forced to pay 2,000 yuan.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhao Xu's Case To Be Turned Over to Procuratorate

The Nanguan District Procuratorate has been working on Mr. Zhao Xu's case since he was officially arrested. They are to turn it over to the Chaoyang District Procuratorate on January 22, 2019.

10. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Zhuo Arrested

Mr. Chen Zhuo, 44, was arrested by officers from the Wuchang District Police Department and Shuiguohu Police Station on the evening of January 18, 2019. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books and printed materials.

11. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Ms. Du Kejuan Detained

Ms. Du Kejuan from Longkou City, Shandong Province, was arrested by officers from the Hongshixia Police Station, Yuntai Mountain area in Henan Province, on December 8, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Yuntai Mountain tourist sites. She is being held in the Jiaozuo City Detention Center.
