1. [Tianjin] Elderly Ms. Zhou Junling Officially Arrested

Ms. Zhou Junling, 78, from the Nankai District, was arrested by officers from the Huayuan Police Station on April 24, 2019. She was officially placed under arrest by the Nankai Procuratorate, and is being held in the Nankai Detention Center.

2. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Dong and Ms. Liu Shaozhen Arrested

Ms. Dong and Ms. Liu Shaozhen, 70, from the Futian District, were arrested on May 13, 2019.

Ms. Dong was later released after she was found to have high blood pressure. Ms. Liu remains in custody.

3. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Zhengqin's Case to Be Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Lu Zhengqin was released on bail after her family paid 5,000 yuan. She has been constantly harassed by officer Liang Huasheng, from the 610 Office (part of the Political Security Section in the Laiwu District Police Department), and officers from the Chengxi Police Station. Her family members were threatened and intimidated by these officers, and their lives have been disrupted.

Liang told Ms. Lu's family that her case is to be turned over to the Procuratorate.

4. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Suli Placed Under Criminal Detention

Ms. Liu Suli from Tai'an County was followed and arrested on the afternoon of May 9, 2019, when she went out and talked with people about Falun Gong. The police confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and DVDs.

Ms. Liu was placed under criminal detention after being detained for 15 days. She was taken to Anshan City.

5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Ailing Detained

Ms. Liu Ailing from Chengnanzhuang Village, Chengnanzhuang Town, Fuping County, was arrested by officers from the Chengnanzhuang Police Station on May 29, 2019, when she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She is being held in the Tang County Detention Center.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Peng Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison

Mr. Li Peng and his daughter Ms. Li Xiaowei from the Acheng District were arrested by officers from the Acheng Domestic Security Division and Chengbei Police Station on February 25, 2017.

Police ransacked their home and confiscated several computers, printers, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and materials.

Ms. Li was released after being held in the Harbin City Detention Center for a month. Mr. Li was sentenced to nine years in prison.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Shenhua Arrested

Ms. Hu Shenhua from Yi County was arrested by officers from the Chengqu Police Station on the morning of May 31, 2019. His home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books and DVDs were confiscated.

Ms. Hu developed symptoms of hypertension and collapsed. She was later released.

8. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Meng Qinglan Tried

Ms. Meng Qinglan, in her 70s, was tried by the Lilan County Court on May 23, 2019, after being held for about six months. The trial lasted less than 30 minutes.

The proceedings were like a staged show. The prosecutor read the accusation, and then the “evidence” was presented. There was no defense counsel. Ms. Meng’s family members were cleared out from the courtroom as soon as the trial ended.
