(Minghui.org) Three small business owners from Texing Town, Sichuan Province were seized from their stores on August 21, 2019 for practicing Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Luo Taihui and her husband were both at their family-owned furniture shop when four police officers broke in. One of them took Ms. Luo to the local police station, while the other three forced her husband to take them to the couple's residence in the countryside to search it.
Ms. Lei Huanying was arrested at her convenience store. Upon receiving a phone call from the police, her husband rushed back from work to find four officers awaiting him at the store. They asked him to find his wife's purse and bring it to the police station. He complied, only to see the purse, which contained his wife's ID, a bank deposit card with tens of thousands of yuan, as well as her driver's license, confiscated upon his arrival.
He told the police that Falun Gong returned his wife to health, but they accused him of promoting Falun Gong and handcuffed him. They next forced him to take them to his residence. Ms. Lei's Falun Gong books and related materials were then confiscated.
The police also returned to Ms. Lei's store and ransacked it on the next day.
Ms. Deng Wanying, a doctor who runs a Chinese medicine store, had her store ransacked and her printer, Falun Gong materials, as well as 20,000 yuan in cash confiscated on the day of her arrest.
The police didn't provide the three practitioners or their family members with a list of confiscated items as required by the law.
One officer revealed to the practitioners' family members that the reason for their arrests was because they were recorded by surveillance cameras while distributing Falun Gong informational materials in another town in late July 2019.
The three women are currently held at Naxi District Detention Center.
Ms. Luo's son went to Lu County Domestic Security Division to demand her release on August 23, but to no avail.
Ms. Deng suffered from poor health since childhood, including rheumatism in her ankles, anemia, chronic stomach and intestines inflammation.
She was introduced to Falun Gong in 1997 and all of her problems disappeared two months later.
After the communist regime ordered the persecution in 1999, she was arrested and held in forced labor camps several times for telling people about her faith. The persecution caused nearly half a million yuan loss of income.
She later opened a drug store and sometimes saw patients in order to make a living. She soon established her reputation around town for being a reliable and outstanding doctor.
Ms. Deng once found a purse containing more than 6,000 yuan in cash and important IDs and credit cards on the street. When the owner offered to give her 1,000 yuan as a token of appreciation, she turned it down and told the owner that Falun Gong teaches her to be a good person.
The owner said, βIn such a corrupt society, it's almost impossible to find good people like you now!β
