Additional Persecution News from China – December 28, 2019 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Chunhua Arrested

Ms. Wang Chunhua, who lives in Huimin Road, Chaoyang District, was arrested at home by officers from the Yihelu Police Station at noon on December 23, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and her belongings, including computers, were confiscated. She was taken to the police station and released that night.

2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Geng Xiufen Detained

Ms. Geng Xiufen from Longtan District was followed and arrested by officers from the Longhua Police Station on the afternoon of November 25, 2019 when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her belongings. Ms. Geng is being held at the Jilin City Detention Center for ten days of detention.

3. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Guirong Arrested

Ms. Luo Guirong was arrested by officers from Linjianglu Police Station on the afternoon of December 12, 2019. Her home was ransacked.

4. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Hang Xia Sentenced to Three-And-a-Half-Years in Prison

Ms. Hang Xia of Wanjiang Resident District was arrested by officers from the Qilitang Police Station in November 2017. The Yaohai Court sentenced her to three-and-a-half-years in prison. She is being held at the Anhui Province Women’s Prison.

Ms. Hang’s husband, Mr. Li Ming, was repeatedly threatened for years because his wife practiced Falun Gong. He died on December 21, 2019. Their son, Ms. Li Hangkun, pleaded through the Hefei mayor hot-line (12345) to allow his mother to attend the funeral. His appeal was denied.

5. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Yuqin and Ms. Yao Xinren’s Cases Sent To Procuratorate 

Ms. Yuan Yuqin and Ms. Yao Xinren were held in the Yantai Detention Center and Longkou Detention Center respectively, in early July 2019. The Longkou Domestic Security Division re-submitted their cases to the Longkou Procuratorate in late November.

6. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Cheng Dongzhan Sentenced, Ms. Jun Ai Detained

Mr. Cheng Dongzhan of Xiyangtai Village, Donganzhuang Township was sentenced to 18 months in prison. His lawyer and family were not notified of the trial as required by law. The presiding judge was Zhu Huiqing of Anping County Court. Mr. Cheng’s family is preparing an appeal.

Ms. Jun Ai of Shenzhou City was arrested in Nanjing City. She is being held at the Hengshui Detention Center.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Zhengyu Abused in Prison

Ms. Sun Zhengyu of Tieling City was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term in June 2018. She is incarcerated in the tenth group, first ward in Liaoning Prison Second Women’s Prison. Ms. Sun was held in solitary confinement for 15 days. Her hands were handcuffed behind her back, and her mouth was taped shut.
