(Minghui.org) A Changchun City, Jilin Province resident was sentenced to 3.5 years on December 25, 2019 for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Shao Jingzhi, working at a dental clinic, was stopped by the police at Changchun Train Station on June 6, 2019 before a trip. The police body-searched her and checked her purse. They confiscated her Falun Gong books. She was released after ten days of detention at Weizigou Detention Center.
Officers from Kuancheng District Domestic Security Division and Lanjia Police Station ransacked her home on July 19, 2019. Her computer and Falun Gong related materials were confiscated.
Ms. Shao has been held at Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center since.
It was reported that many local Falun Gong practitioners are clients of the dental the clinic she works at, and the police have been closely monitoring the clinic to get information about local practitioners.
Ms. Shao was tried through a teleconference on December 18, 2019 and sentenced to 3.5 years one week later. She has appealed against the verdict.
