(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 52 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Cai Junping from the Jian’an District has been taken to the Xinmi Prison in Henan Province. It is not known when she was tried, the length of her prison term or when she was taken to prison.
Ms. Zhang Cui’s daughter was handcuffed and taken into custody when she was leaving home to go to work in the early morning of September 16, 2020. Officers from the Longwangtang Police Station had been waiting near her home since 4 a.m. They took Ms. Zhang's daughter to look for Ms. Zhang that afternoon. After she showed up, they let her daughter go.
Ms. Zhang was formally placed under arrest on September 17 and was taken to the Wafangdian Detention Center for 14 days of quarantine due to the coronavirus. She will then be transferred to the Dalian Detention Center.
Officer Li Zhiyou from the Ranghulu District Police Department called Ms. He Jingxin multiple times on September 22, 2020, questioning about her address and of her practicing Falun Gong. Li also phoned Ms. He's neighbors to harass them.
Earlier, Li made multiple phone calls to Ms. He and even went to her workplace to harass her. Li also teamed up with officers from the Chaoyang Township Police Station in Zhaozhou County and ransacked her home. They forcibly took the house key from her husband and made the home a mess after searching it. They confiscated a cellphone.
Administrators from the Heilongjiang Agricultural Reclamation Industrial School sent two teachers, Sun Jiling and Dong Hongbo, to Ms. Ma Yucui’s home on the evening of September 10, 2020. Ms. Ma went to see the principal, Feng Mingqin, the following morning, who demanded that she write the three statements to renounce Falun Gong.
The school Party secretary Ling Feng, vice-principal Meng Jun, and library curator Qu Lili went to Ms. Ma’s office on the afternoon of September 14 and continued to press her to write the three statements. Ms. Ma refused and continued to tell them about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Ma was called to meet principal Feng Mingqin, Qu Lili, and the chief of the school security section Xin Yanjun on the afternoon of September 22. They continued to pressure her to write the statements.
Ms. Ma's husband was also harassed at his workplace and their daughter was harassed at school in order to put pressure on Ms. Ma to write the statements. They even tried to make her quit her job.
Police officers ransacked Mr. Liu Zengkui’s home on the afternoon of September 22, 2020.
Ms. Wang Meiying from Hengshan County in Hengyang City has been missing since early September 2020.
Officers from the Wuqing District's Cuihuangkou Police Station went to Ms. Xiao Wenxia’s home in early September 2020, but she wasn't there. Personnel from the village committee later went to her home and demanded that she sign a statement denouncing Falun Gong, which she refused. They threatened her by saying that her non-cooperation would affect her children's schooling and future job prospects.
Ms. Xiao's family pressured her to sign the statement. Staff from the township government also went to harass her.
Ms. Ma Fengxia and her husband Mr. Wang Yun are from Xiaozhujia Village, Baichigan Township, Zhuzhou City. Mr. Wan was on the police wanted list and has become displaced to avoid being arrested. Police Chief Liang Yufeng threatened Ms. Ma that they would not let her family live in peace if her husband was not caught.
Mr. Wang was involved in a car accident at another place where he worked and was taken to the hospital. Police officers from Zhuozhou heard the news and went to Ms. Ma’s home to look for him. They couldn’t find him, so they took Ms. Ma and their youngest daughter Ms. Wang Yueming to the police station.
Ms. Ma Fengxia was detained for seven days and returned home on September 11.
Personnel from the Zhiyuanli Community went to harass Ms. Wang Derong at her home on the morning of September 17, 2020. They demanded that she sign a guarantee statement promising not to practice Falun Gong and threatened her, saying that her family and children would be implicated if she didn’t sign it.
A staff member of the Binjiang Jiayuan Community in the Ningjiang District phoned Ms. Zheng Chunmei’s family member on September 11. The person demanded that Ms. Zheng go to the community office to sign a guarantee statement promising not to practice Falun Gong, and threatened consequences if she refused.
Ms. Zheng and her family member did not comply.
Ms. Li Chunxiu is a civil servant at Changping District's Justice Bureau. She has been arrested and detained for over a month.
Ms. Li Hemei and Ms. Xu Qiao were arrested by officers from the Tanghe Road Police Station on February 8, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.
They were both detained. Ms. Li has been released for about a month. Ms. Xu is still in detention.
Officers from the Dongwang Town Police Station went to the homes of Mr. Xu Zhimin, Ms. Lv Huiping, and Ms. Li Lanxin to harass them on the morning of September 17, 2020. They confiscated pictures of Falun Gong's founder.
Ms. Wu Jun, her daughter Ms. Lang Zanmei, and Ms. Ma Yanfang were arrested on August 14, 2020.
Ms. Wu returned home later that day but was put under house arrest. Ms. Ma Yanfang was released on August 15. Ms. Lang Zanmei has been held in the Changchun No. 4 Detention Center since then.
Mr. Ma Zhiwu from Yinchuan City returned to his hometown in Guyuan City in early June 2020. He was arrested on June 5 by Feng, head of the Yuanzhou District Domestic Security Division, and officer Yang Fuchun. He was formally placed under arrest on June 25.
His case was sent to the Yuanzhou Procuratorate in late August and transferred to the Guyuan Procuratorate on September 2.
Mr. Yang Rongsen is an engineer at the China Southwest Petroleum Bureau. His son received a phone call from the Chengdu Railway Police Station on September 21, 2020. The caller demanded that Mr. Yang go to the police station to sign documents related to his bail pending trial. If he refused, they threatened that he would be arrested and sentenced and even lose his wages, medical insurance, and social security benefits.
Ms. Wang Shuqin from Nanbao Village was harassed at her home by Zhang Wenguan from the village authorities, staff from the Gucheng Township government, and the police on September 14, 2020.
Ms. Ma Huimin's son was threatened by staff from the Justice Bureau. He wrote a guarantee statement on behalf of his mother to stop practicing Falun Gong. They also tried to take photos of Ms. Ma.
Ms. Zhang Minying's son and daughter-in-law were threatened at their work unit that they might lose their jobs if their mother still practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. Lu Jianhui from Beixinzhuang Village was harassed by the village Party secretary on August 30 about her practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Zhao Yuran from Dongdajie Village was harassed by the head of the village. He secretly took photos to prove that he had been to her home.
Ms. Hu Mingqin, 64, was harassed by staff from the Youzha Street Community. They kept knocking on her door. Ms. Hu refused to cooperate with them and did not let them take photos.
Ms. Zhang Lixin and Mr. Bai Yufu from Daqing City were arrested and detained in Fuxin City, Liaoning Province in December 2019. They were taken to the Fuxin Detention Center and Heituozhi Detention Center, respectively.
Their cases were passed to the Fuxin Court but were returned to the local police department in March 2020 due to a lack of evidence.
Their cases have been resubmitted to the court.
Ms. Wang Qiuping's arrest was approved by the Heping District Procuratorate on September 6, 2020. Her case has now been submitted to the Heping Court.
Ms. Wei Shujie and her non-practitioner husband from Shanshuiwenyuan in the Xiangfang District were arrested by officers from the Jianzhu Police Station on the evening of September 22, 2020.
Ms. Yao Fengru and her husband Mr. Zhang Zhifu from Zaohua Township in the Yuhong District were arrested on September 20, 2020. They are being held in the No.1 Detention Center and Xinchengzi Detention Center, respectively.
Ms. Song Guizhi and Ms. Zhang Yaqin from the Sujiatun District were arrested by officers from the Minzhu Police Station on September 22.
Wang Fengxue, head of the Chaoyang Township Police Station, took two policemen to Mr. Zhang Yujiang’s home and then his workplace. After Mr. Zhang refused to sign a statement promising to renounce Falun Gong, they arrested him and took him to the police station.
Mr. Zhang's hands were cuffed behind his back. He was tied to an iron chair and beaten.
Ms. Wang Zhizhen and Ms. Li Yuxiang from Guangji Township in Meishan City were reported to the police on the morning of July 20, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested.
Ms. Li was detained for ten days and then released. Ms. Wang Zhizhen was detained in Pengshan and then transferred to the Meishan Detention House.
Mr. Liu Yuanxue from the Yongchuan District was imprisoned from April 2012 to April 2015. He was informed recently that his pension that was paid during those three years would be taken back by the Social Security Bureau. However, Mr. Liu refused to sign the related document. His pension has now been stopped completely. A total of 80,000 yuan has been deducted from his pension since September.
Mr. Luo Mingyou has been receiving a reduced pension of 800 yuan a month deduction since June 2020. This was a private pension that he had been putting in with his own money.
Mr. Dai Xianming received a notice on August 25 from the Social Security Bureau that 690 yuan a month would be deducted from his pension starting in September. This was also his private pension.
Mr. Dai Dakui has not received his pension from October 2007 to November 2010, during his prison term. The total amount of pension deducted was more than 60,000 yuan.
Ms. Wang Xiaofen in Xinghualing District was arrested by plainclothes police officers on the afternoon of September 19, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.
Attorney Mr. Du Jingyi is due to be tried on September 28, 2020.
Mr. Yu Shuiqing was arrested by officer Li Yubin from the Tiexi District Police Department on December 4, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was sentenced to a three-year prison term in September 2020.
Ms. Zhang Baoling and Ms. Jiang Shubo from Fuzhou Town in Wafangdian City and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Santai Township Police Station on September 22, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Santai Police Station.
Mr. Jiang Tao was arrested in Kuancheng District by plainclothes police officers on August 15, 2019. His home was ransacked, and over 170 Dafa books, CDs, USB drives, and two desktop computers that belonged to his wife for home teaching were confiscated. He was taken to the Siping Detention Center.
Mr. Jiang Tao was previously sentenced to a 12-year prison term on July 12, 2001. He was sentenced again in September 2012 for another three years.
Ms. Wang Ping and Ms. Ma Sumei from the Bincheng District were arrested on September 21, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong in a market. Officers ransacked their homes and confiscated their computers, printers, Dafa books, and other personal belongings.
They were detained for one year before being released on September 20, 2020, under a temporary court sentence of one year.
