(Minghui.org) Right after I was born, I was diagnosed with congenital rheumatoid arthritis. My mother had this condition, so I must have inherited it from her. I was tortured by it from childhood. I went to the provincial hospital many times, but the doctors told me there was no cure for rheumatoid arthritis. They could only give me drugs to manage the pain. I had to drop out of high school at 20 and was paralyzed at 21.
During a bad episode of the arthritis, I had severe pain and was in torment. Later, the rheumatoid arthritis caused a heart attack. I was on the brink of death.
Introduced to Falun Dafa
By the time I was 29 in 1997, I had been paralyzed and in bed for 8 years. That was the year that I fortunately discovered Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong). I could not do the exercises, so I read the Dafa books, mainly Zhuan Falun.
One day, when I was in a light sleep, I heard the sound “bang-bang” in my head. It sounded like gunshots. From reading the teachings, I believed that Master was purifying my head.
After I heard it a few times, I could raise my head. That was amazing! Then I could sit up if I leaned against something. Although I wasn’t “normal,” I no longer had to lie down all the time. At the end of that year, I could study the Fa by sitting up a bit and lying down a bit.
Just when I was sinking into a sea of bitterness, Master Li saved me. My family and I were so happy! My mother and younger sister also began to practice Falun Dafa.
Assisting Master in Fa-rectification
I got a regular wheelchair in 2008 and could then go out by myself. I began to clarify the truth to people face to face and encourage them to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates. At first, when I told them, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” I still had some fear in my heart due to the persecution. Gradually, I let go of the fear and persuaded a few people to quit the CCP each day.
Occasionally, no one I spoke to on a given day quit, so I looked within. When I returned home, I studied the Fa more and looked to see where I was falling short. After I corrected myself, things went much better when I went out again. I usually went six to nine miles in my wheelchair each day and usually persuaded three to five people to quit the CCP and its youth organizations. I didn’t think it was too few. I felt that, even if I persuaded only one person to quit, my trip was worthwhile. At times it was very windy or the road was so steep that I couldn’t wheel myself forward, so I asked Master for help. Very quickly, a passerby would come to help me.
After we began to write Falun Dafa phrases on paper money and use the bills, I went to the fair in our town whenever it was held. I went to the vendors, who were all happy to exchange their regular bills for my bills with the truth-clarification phrases on them. Each time, I exchanged up to 2,000 yuan paper bills (usually 1, 5 yuan, or 10 yuan) that would be circulated so that people could learn the truth.
In 2016, I got an electric wheelchair, which made it much easier to go out and clarify the truth. I then persuaded 6 to 8 people to quit each day. Some of them accepted my brochures but didn’t quit the CCP; some accepted the brochures and did quit the CCP. When my mindset was good, everyone I talked to quit without a problem.
I often said it this way: “You can’t find more righteous principles than Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance in all the world. They are supreme in the universe. Why do we tell you to quit the CCP? Because it fills you with its lies and harms you. We are saving you instead, because all the prophecies, both in China and abroad, have said that catastrophes are awaiting human beings; they say that many people will be weeded out and only some can remain. We are telling you the truth. If you agree to quit the CCP, you will be saved and not eliminated.”
Some of them understood but were afraid to quit because they had been frightened by the CCP's repeated political movements. When I saw them hesitate, I gave them pseudonyms to quit safely.
Master gave my wisdom so that I could save more people. Most of the time, my little speeches were eloquent. The people I spoke to listened and asked me to help them quit right after I finished speaking. They often thanked me. I'd reply, “You don’t need to thank me, but you should thank Dafa's Master Li.”
After the Minghui website published truth-clarification calendars, our practitioners quickly produced exquisite calendars. I distributed them every year. In the meantime, I clarified the truth and persuaded people to quit the CCP organizations. The number of calendars I could get was limited, yet everyone wanted one. When I distributed them, my wheelchair was surrounded by people who understood Falun Gong is good and wanted calendars. They were snapped up quickly.
I once went to a fair in a large town to distribute the calendars and clarify the truth. I distributed 80 calendars and helped over 30 people quit the CCP. Deep down, I knew it was the power of Dafa that was responsible for this. Otherwise, as a disabled person, what could I do?
Blessed after Knowing the Truth
I often went to a tourist area to clarify the truth. Last summer, I met a middle-aged man walking with a cane and asked him what happened. He said that he’d had a stroke. I explained the truth to him and encouraged him to quit the CCP. After he understood, he withdrew from the Young Pioneers.
Some time later, I saw him again at the tourist area and gave him a truth-clarification pamphlet, a Dafa keepsake, and an elegant pendant that I carried with me. He accepted them all. He read the materials and then gave them to people he knew. He explained his understanding of the truth to them.
Not long ago, I met him yet again at the tourist area. Amazingly, I saw him walking without the cane and asked him where it was. He said he didn’t need it anymore. I encouraged him, saying, “You should continue to recite ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ and behave in accordance with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”
He then told me about an experience he had, “Two days before the Dragon Boat Festival, I was strolling in this area when a car came at me. I was stunned and froze, but when it was just a half-meter away, it suddenly stopped. I knew it was all because I had been reciting, ‘Falun Dafa is good.’ I didn’t try to get money out of the driver, because I understood ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ If not, I wouldn’t have let him go. I would have spent the Dragon Boat Festival at his home—and the Mid-Autumn Festival, too!”
I was really happy that he understood the truth and was therefore blessed. He also told me that, in addition to walking on the regular streets, he could also climb the hilly ones. I also gifted him a truth-clarification broadcaster.
When I met him again, I suggested that he read Zhuan Falun. He said he had problems with his eyes. I said, “Then I'll give you a chip, and you can listen to the audio version.” He is now studying the teachings by listening to the recordings.
Seizing the Time to Awaken People’s Consciences
When the Chinese Communist virus (Wuhan virus) was spreading in China, people were panicking. I felt it was a critical time for me to awaken their conscience.
One day, I was in a village in my electric wheelchair when I ran into an elderly man I knew. I had been clarifying the truth to him for over 10 years, but he never heeded what I said because he was limited by his “higher education” and poisoned by the CCP.
I thought it was especially important to help him understand the truth at this time and help him survive. I said, “I told you that a catastrophe was pending, and now it is here! Many prophecies have mentioned this. You don’t need to panic. You only need to stop listening to the lies of the CCP and quit the CCP. Gods will see your sincerity and protect you. Falun Dafa practitioners are awakening people’s consciences during these troubled times. Remember these words: ‘Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ They can protect you.”
He eventually accepted the truth and agreed to withdraw from the Youth League he had once joined. He also accepted the truth-clarification materials.
