(Minghui.org) A Yitong County, Jilin Province resident is facing prosecution for his faith in Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Dong Weixing, a 53-year-old teacher, was arrested at his school on October 10, 2020. He is now detained at the Yitong County Detention Center. The police have submitted his case to the Yitong County Procuratorate.
In the past 20 years, Mr. Dong has been subjected to constant arrests and detention for upholding his faith.
He was first arrested on March 13, 2002, and taken to the Yongningjie Police Station. The police handcuffed him and held him against the ground. One officer kicked him in the chest twice, almost suffocating him. He was transferred to the Yitong County Detention Center around midnight.
On the next day, the guards put a 55-lb shackle on his neck and forced him to squat for hours. They next pushed him into a metal chair, put his feet into a pair of metal boots, cuffed his hands to the sides of the chair, and placed a metal bar in front of his chest, while still keeping the shackle on his neck. One officer covered his eyes with a piece of cloth and another punched him in the thighs more than 20 times. His thighs became completely bruised. After Mr. Dong was released from the chair, he had blood in his urine.
The police repeated the same torture the day after. They also stripped off his clothes and opened the window to let the wind blow on him. To increase his suffering, the officers poured cold water on him and turned on the fan to blow at him from his back.
Mr. Dong was given one and a half years of forced labor and transferred to the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp on May 14, 2002. There, he was forced to sit on a small stool for long hours without moving or talking. Initially, the torture lasted from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Then the guards gradually extended it to 2 a.m. and then 4 a.m. He barely had any sleep and his buttocks festered as a result.
When Mr. Dong and other detained Falun Gong practitioners were extremely sleepy, the guards would carry them individually to a small dark room and torture them by hitting their legs with a wooden board, poking their eyes or lifting their legs and then stepping on their legs.
Mr. Dong was arrested at home on December 15, 2015, after the police found out about a criminal complaint he had filed against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party who ordered the persecution of Falun Gong. They searched his place and confiscated his three computers, several speakers, Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. One officer videotaped him while he was held on the ground with his hands cuffed.
The police then brought Mr. Dong to the police station, locked him in a chair with his hands cuffed behind his back, and interrogated him. He was released after ten days of detention.
It was reported that Mr. Dong’s latest arrest is related to his 2015 criminal complaint against Jiang.
