(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 50 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Tang Suqiong, an elementary school teacher, about 46 years old, in Pengxi County, was reported to the police by a student’s parent for talking to parents about Falun Gong. Ms. Tang gave the parent a Falun Gong informational USB disc.
People from the Suining City State Security Division, the Pengxi County Domestic Security Division, the local police station, the SWAT Team, and the Residential Community Committee arrived in two vehicles at Ms. Tang’s home in Qunli Town on the morning of September 22, 2020. They confiscated three large boxes of personal items, including Falun Dafa books, computers, and printers.
Ms. Tang was taken to the Pengxi County Detention Center. She was released that day. She was sentenced to a one year prison term to be served outside prison.
Ms. Du Xiaojing (the eldest daughter of Mr. Du Quancun who has just been sentenced to four years in prison) and Ms. Wang Yuexia were videotaped by surveillance cameras when they put up self-adhesive stickers with information about Falun Gong.
Both practitioners were arrested by the Qingyun Police Department in September and November 2019, respectively. They were held in the Dezhou Detention Center.
In August 2020, the Qingyun County Court secretly sentenced the two practitioners to three years in prison without notifying their families.
Mr. Yang Zhenhui was arrested by the Jinzhou City police in April 2013. After being detained for 7 months in the detention center, he escaped and has been displaced.
He was arrested again in early September 2020, and is being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.
Ms. Fan Mei and another practitioner Ahua were arrested when talking to people about Falun Gong on the street on October 1, 2020.
Ms. Xue Ziqing, 83, Ms. Zhao Jifeng, and another practitioner, who came to Jinan to visit his or her son, were arrested by officers from the Qianfoshan Police Station when talking to people about Falun Gong in the Thousand Buddha Mountain area on September 27, 2020. Their homes were ransacked in the evening. They were released at around 11 p.m. that night.
Ms. Zou Shuqin’s home was ransacked by officers from the Minsheng Police Station around 2 p.m. on September 22, 2020.
Ms. Sun Baomei was arrested at home 10 days ago for distributing Falun Gong materials.
Ms. Zeng Youmei in Laoliutou Residential Community was arrested by the local police and officers from the Dongchangfu District Domestic Security Division, led by Zhou Shengqiao, head of the division, on February 1, 2020. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Ma Yuzhi and Ms. Zhang Wenling were reported to the police when they talked to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of March 17, 2020. Both practitioners were placed under residential surveillance for six months.
Ms. Ma and Ms. Zhang were harassed by the local police on August 12. They were forced to sign the three statements. The police told them that their cases were turned over to the Procuratorate to go through legal procedure. The police kept harassing the two practitioners to sign the statements.
The Dong’e County Procuratorate told them to sign paperwork on the morning of September 23, and said that they would be tried in about one to two months.
Ms. Zhang Chunyan was arrested when doing the exercises in Chashan Park on September 24, 2020. She has been held in the Heyuan City Detention Center.
Since mid-September 2020, the Gaochuan Township government, the police station, and the judicial office have harassed Falun Gong practitioners in Nanbei Village five or six consecutive times. Village officials have also contacted practitioners and told them to write the guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong. The practitioners refused.
Over 10 people including officials from the Gaochuan Township government, Geng Jun, director of the police station, and Li Jingsong, director of the judicial office broke into an elderly practitioner’s home in Nanbei Village and ransacked the place. They confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, two Falun Dafa books, and three card radios.
They then broke into Ms. Yu Xinhong’s home, tore up the Falun Gong informational paintings on the wall as soon as they entered the door, and ransacked the place. They confiscated over 40 Falun Dafa books, a laptop, and an MP3. They told Ms. Yu to write the guarantee statements. She was arrested and taken to the police station.
In the interrogation room, Ms. Yu was handcuffed to an iron chair. Several officers took turns interrogating her. They said that as long as she wrote the statements, they would let her go home. She refused to cooperate.
The director of the police station was furious and wanted to send her to the county police department for intense persecution. Her family members and the village Party secretary, who rushed to the police station, talked the director out of it. Ms. Yu returned home at around 8 p.m. that evening.
Ms. Shi Ping was recently arrested at home by officers from the Baoshan District Domestic Security Division.
It was learned that her arrest was related to the news that her older sister Ms. Shi Xiaoling’s arrest in April was posted on the Internet. The Baoshan District Domestic Security Division repeatedly asked her family members how the news was spread.
Ms. Shi Ping was also held in the Baoshan District Detention Center.
Mr. Zhou Yong and his wife Ms. Liu in the Zhuankou Economic and Technological Development Zone were arrested at home by officers from the Zhuanyang Police Station on September 9, 2020. Their home was ransacked and their personal belongings were confiscated. Ms. Liu is being held in the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center. Mr. Zhou is being held in a brainwashing center.
Mr. Zhang Yanzhong was arrested by the Mulan County police including Sun Jianhai on July 30, 2020. He was handcuffed behind his back during interrogation, when the officers hurled insults at him.
Mr. Zhang refused to cooperate. Zhang Yadong, head of the Criminal Investigation Division, instructed Sun Jianhai, head of the Criminal Police Team, and other officers to ransack Mr. Zhang’s son’s home. They did not find anything they wanted. Next, they went to Mr. Zhang’s daughter’s home and ransacked the place. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.
Back at the Mulan County Police Department, Yu Zhong, head of the Domestic Security Division, pressured Mr. Zhang to sign paperwork.
Ms. Liu Xiuhe was harassed at home by the village Party secretary around September 29, 2020. The next day, village committee personnel came to her home and insisted she sign statements renouncing Falun Gong, which she refused.
Officers from the local police station and deputy secretary of the town led by Zhang Xiaoming, a village official, broke into Ms. Meng Qingju’s home on the afternoon of September 30, 2020. They asked if she was still practiced Falun Gong, and if she did she had to turn in her Falun Gong related items. She refused to answer.
Zuo Zhihong and two other officers from the Shunping County Domestic Security Division and Shi Huiguang, Party secretary of Shimenzhuang Village went to Ms. Wang Huiping’s home and ransacked the place on July 16, 2020. They confiscated three Falun Dafa books and weekly publications. Ms. Wang was taken somewhere to sign paperwork. She was later released.
Zuo and another officer went to Ms. Wang’s home the next day and asked her to sign. On September 22, Zuo came to her home again and wanted to arrest her. When she resisted firmly, the officers gave up.
Three police officers from Dongcheng District went to Ms. Chen Bihui’s home on the morning of September 24, 2020. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. She said yes. One of the officers wanted to take photos, and the other officer appeared to be recording with a cell phone.
In recent days, personnel from the Xihuayuan Police Station, the Sub-district Administration Office, and the Xihuayuan Residential Committee in Xixia District have repeatedly harassed Falun Gong practitioners in their jurisdiction.
Those known to have been harassed include Mr. Wang Yuzhou, Ms. Pang Quanlan (Mr. Wang Yuzhou’s wife), Mr. Shi Xiufeng, Ms. Sun Yajuan, Ms. Xi Fuyan, Ms. Xi Hua (Ms. Xi Fuyuan’s sister), and Ms. Zuo Ruiying.
The authorities also threatened to suspend their pensions and expel their children from jobs if the practitioners refused to sign statements.
Personnel from the Helan Police Station, the Bayi Residential Community Committee, and the Beijing Road Police Station in Xixia District harassed three Falun Gong practitioners several times. The three practitioners are Mr. Song Jing, his wife Ms. Chen Yulan, Ms. Li Yiping, and another practitioner with the last name Zhi.
Officers including Cha Qiang from the Dongta Police Station recently went to the home of Ms. Zhang Yufang. Ms. Zhang cannot take care of herself as a result of persecution. They ransacked her home and confiscated two Falun Dafa books and two memory cards. They also harassed Ms. Dai Yuzhen and Ms. Ma Guizhen. They also called the three practitioners several times to force them to sign the three statements.
It was reported that Ms. Wang Juxiang, Ms. Gao Xiaowei, Ms. Chen Defang, and Ms. Li Minfang will be tried by the Jitai Court at 9 a.m. on October 9, 2020.
A group of people led by Zhongxin Residential Community personnel went to Ms. Zhang Min’s home on October 1, 2020. Ms. Zhang was not at home. They asked Ms. Zhang’s daughter-in-law if her mother-in-law was still practiced Falun Gong. The daughter-in-law was afraid that they would keep returning for harassment, and told them Ms. Zhang stopped practicing. The people did not leave until she signed paperwork.
Ms. Zhao Xiuying in Leyuan No. 4 Factory, Zhaozhou County, was harassed over the phone by personnel from the Yongle Police Station around September 20, 2020.
Two officers went to her home the following day. They asked where she went. Her husband said that she went to Jiangsu Province. The officers told him to sign paperwork, but he refused.
Mr. Zhang Guoying lives in Yuzhou City. His retirement salary was suspended in September 2020.
Mr. Zhang was arrested in June 2012. He was sentenced to three years in prison. He returned home after his prison term ended in June 2015.
Ms. Wang Xue’e’s retirement salary was also suspended. She was arrested in July 2012. She was sentenced to three years in prison. She returned home after her prison term ended in July 2015.
Yao Dawei, director of the Safety Office of Shulan Education Bureau, on September 1, went to Shujiao Tongxing Primary School, found Ms. Yu Xiaojuan, and told her to go to a brainwashing center. Her name was on a list with whom officials had to follow up.
Bu Qingyan, principal of Shujiao Central School, and other people went to Ms. Yu’s home on September 7. They talked to her husband Mr. Li Zhanhui, and pressured the family to have her go to the brainwashing center. They then went to the school to look for her. They still planned to take her to the brainwashing center.
Bu and two other people returned to her home on September 30. They told her husband to “transform” her. They told him that she would not be able to keep her job if she refused to cooperate.
Both her husband and her son (whose name is Li Ang) began pressuring her to sign the statements on the grounds that she would lose her job. Her husband also punched and kicked her. Some of her hair was pulled out and her arms were bruised. He slapped her and as a result her hearing was damaged. Three relatives came to also force her to sign.
To force her to sign, her son Li Ang opened a window and pretended to jump out on October 2. The school principal Bu Qingyan also threatened that he would be removed from his position if she continued to practice Falun Gong. Bu said that Ms. Yu was against him personally, and he had to see to it that she gave in. Ms. Yu has become displaced.
Ms. Liu Yingda and another practitioner were arrested when they distributed Falun Gong materials in mid-September 2020. They are being held in the Guxing No. 3 Detention Center.
Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan was arrested at home on October 6, 2019. He was sentenced to five years by the Shaodong City Court on May 12, 2020. The Shaoyang City Intermediate Court recently rejected his appeal and ruled to uphold the verdict. He has been sent to the Loudi Prison to finish serving his term.
