(Minghui.org) Only ten minutes into reciting Zhuan Falun, a thought emerged out of nowhere telling me to go get a cup of water. I would have done so in the past, but I didn't do it since I wasn’t thirsty.
I realized I should eliminate this kind of thought as it wasn’t coming from my main consciousness.
As I continued to recite the Fa, a different thought emerged: “Find something to eat.” I knew immediately that this was interference and eliminated it.
The same thoughts would pop up again throughout the course of my recitation. But I was able to eliminate them without hesitation. The longer I recited the Fa, the less the thoughts appeared.
But then, a totally different thought popped up saying that I should call my schoolmate who had broken her ankle a few days ago.
I understood that making such a call wasn’t sincere, as I was only doing it because she was my husband’s boss’ wife. This was part of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) culture—to flatter insincerely. I quickly sent forth righteous thoughts to remove this Party culture from myself.
In China, under the influence of CCP culture, it’s common to praise people in upper management. I disliked doing it even before I started practicing Dafa. Although I was aware of this, the thought still found its way into my mind.
I then enlightened that I was doing and saying things under the influence of Party culture even though I didn’t like to flatter people. In recent years, when I said pleasant things to others, it had negative effects. I understood that Master was helping me to enlighten to this.
Why was I interfered with while reciting the Fa? Master said,
“In ordinary human society and in interpersonal conflicts, you compete and fight for personal gain, all kinds of human qing, and your attachments to desires. If you do not let go of these things and take them lightly, how can you easily achieve tranquility? While practicing qigong, some people claim, “I just don’t believe it. I’ve got to calm down and stop thinking.” As soon as that is said, all their thoughts pop up again. It is because your mind is not clean that you are unable to achieve tranquility.” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)
I knew that this was due to my attachments and the old forces’ interference. I must cultivate diligently.
