(Minghui.org) A practitioner named Ann had a small matter come up and came to my house to discuss it with me and my husband, who is also a practitioner. During the conversation, she changed the topic to complain about another practitioner. My husband tried to point it out to her, but it appeared she was not listening. I kept quiet.
I know Ann very well and she is often like this. I thought, “Why should I bother to explain to her?”
I waited until she left to talk to my husband about Ann’s issues. This was the second time we talked about her. Last time when I pointed out her shortcomings, my husband didn’t agree with me and I got upset for many days.
However, I felt something was wrong with me this time.
Master said,
“...if you search for external help, you are said to have taken a demonic way. In genuine cultivation practice one must cultivate the heart...” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)
Looking inward at my own thoughts, I realized that I had been attached to Ann’s superficial shortcomings and this increased my dissatisfaction of her, resulting in my seeing more shortcomings in her.
If one sees another person’s problems, it is like looking at one’s own problems in a mirror. I was ashamed that I had disliked a fellow practitioner, a disciple of Master.
It might have taken thousands of years to form a predestined relationship between two Dafa disciples in the same Fa-study group to assist Master in Fa-rectification.
The persecution is still ongoing and we should be more compassionate and tolerant towards each other. My apologies to Master! My apologies to my fellow practitioner!
