(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 5 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
While traveling to a relative's home in Beijing for the Chinese New Year on January 19, 2020, Mr. Tong Hengbiao was stopped at the security checkpoint at Daqing East Station because he was in possession of a Falun Dafa book.
He was arrested, and taken to the local police department. His home was ransacked, and he was transferred to Daqing Detention Center for 14 days. His family has not been allowed to visit him.
Ms. Zhou Shuying from the Chiping District was arrested by officers from Wenchen Police Station on February 10, 2020, for posting Falun Gong materials. She is in custody in Wenchen Police Station.
Mr. Zhai Yingxiang was reported to police on February 3, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested, and released later that night.
Mr. Zhai and Ms. Gao Xiaohong were followed and arrested on February 5, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and printed materials. Both were released, but told to report to the police station every 15 days.
Ms. Geng Xiufen from the Longtan District was arrested by officers from Longhua Police Station on the afternoon of November 25, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers ransacked her home, and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder, and Falun Gong calendars.
The chief of Jilin City Police Department extorted 50,000 yuan from her family. Ms. Geng was released ten days later. The police told Ms. Geng’s son to watch her, and not let her distribute Falun Gong materials.
