Additional Persecution News from China – March 1, 2020 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in eight cities or counties in six provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

7. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Cases of Ms. Shan Baoqin and Ms. Sun Xiuhua Turned Over to Procuratorate

1. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Wentao Detained

The director and six other officers from the Dongcheng Police Station broke into Mr. Li Wentao’s home and arrested him on the morning of February 10, 2020. The officers confiscated his Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Mr. Li was detained for 15 days.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Hongzhi and Ms. Wei Xiaoli Arrested

Ms. Zhao Hongzhi, 81, and Ms. Wei Xiaoli, in her 40s, were arrested by officers from the Nanhu Police Station on the evening of February 26, 2020.

3. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Jianhua’s Family Arrested

Ms. Liu Jianhua, her son Mr. Zu Linlin, and daughter-in-law Ms. Guo Lingfang from Suijiadian Village, Yiwen Town, were arrested by officers from the Liuqing Police Station, Beicheng District on February 19, 2020. Their residence was ransacked. They have since returned home.

4. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhang Zhongyi Facing Trial

The Kunming City Court is planning a remote online video trial for Ms. Zhang Zhongyi at the Kunming Detention Center on March 4, 2020. Family members will not be allowed to attend.

Ms. Zhang was arrested on September 1, 2019, and is being held in the Kunming Detention Center.

5. [Kaijiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Mingying and Her Husband Mr. Li Bending Arrested

Ms. Liu Mingying and her husband Mr. Li Bending were arrested at home on February 29, 2020. The place was ransacked.

6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Yanru Arrested

Ms. Lu Yanru from the Xihoulou Residential Community, Liuting Neighborhood, Chengyang District, was arrested at home by officers from the local 610 Office on February 25, 2020.

7. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Cases of Ms. Shan Baoqin and Ms. Sun Xiuhua Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Shan Baoqin and Ms. Sun Xiuhua from Ningcheng County were reported to the police on the afternoon of December 2, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from the Erlong Police Station, Ningcheng County, and taken to the Ningcheng County Detention Center.

Ms. Sun was hospitalized due to high blood pressure, and will serve her detention outside the detention center.

The police department passed Ms. Shan and Ms. Sun's cases to the Procuratorate on February 27, 2020.
