(Minghui.org) A 75-year-old woman was recently sentenced for practicing Falun Gong and has been sent to Ningxia Women’s Prison. The exact time of her sentencing and her prison term remain to be investigated.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Jiang Hongying, a resident of Yinchuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region, was arrested on July 18, 2019. Her arrest was approved on August 23. She appeared in Xixia District Court on December 2, 2019 and the judge adjourned the hearing without issuing the verdict.
Prior to her latest term, Ms. Jiang, a retired employee of the Ningxia Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, has served two labor camp terms for a total of four years and two prison terms totaling six years and three months for holding fast to her faith. Her salary and pension payment were suspended while she was serving time.
