(Minghui.org) A middle school teacher has been detained for over a month for encouraging people to recite the phrases “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good.” The police are pressuring the local procuratorate to approve her arrest.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline with three universal principles, Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Due to its popularity, the practice has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
After the coronavirus pandemic broke out, Minghui.org has received reports about people recovering from the virus by reciting the phrases “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good.” Wishing to help others, Ms. Gao Jiuyun put up self-adhesive stickers with information about Falun Dafa's miraculous healing power in keeping people safe amid the pandemic. For this, she was arrested.
The Quzhou County, Hebei Province resident was seized at home on the evening of February 18, 2020. The police confiscated her Falun Gong materials and held her at the Handan City No. 3 Detention Center on criminal detention.
Ms. Gao’s family went to the county police department to demand her release, but the police insisted on keeping her in custody.
Ms. Gao is a math teacher at the Quzhou Experimental Middle School. She has won several awards for her excellent teaching and classroom management.
In 2006, a student often cried to her because of intensive headaches. Knowing that many people have experienced miraculous healing after reciting “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good,” Ms. Gao suggested that the student try reciting these phrases.
After the student’s sister heard about it, she reported Ms. Gao to the police, resulting in her being arrested on July 13, 2006. The police held Ms. Gao in the Handan Brainwashing Center for a month and imposed a fine on her.
After Ms. Gao returned to school, the school leadership forbade her from teaching, but assigned her to be a housekeeper in the male students’ dorm for the next five years. She didn’t complain, and helped the students keep the dorm very clean.
In 2011, when the school ran out of teachers, she was moved back to teach 8th graders. When the students received very high scores in the final exams, Ms. Gao was recognized as a “Model Teacher” at the county level.
