(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that four Arxan City, Inner Mongolia residents were all sentenced to three years’ imprisonment in 2019 for spreading information about their faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Li Yaqin, Ms. Sun Fengwei, Ms. Wang Xiaomin and Ms. Fu Zhixia were arrested on December 12, 2018 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong.
They were held at Horqin Right Front Banner Detention Center before being transferred to Hohhot Prison in late 2019.
More details about their cases remain to be investigated.
Prior to their latest sentencing, three of the practitioners had been targeted several times in the past two decades for their faith.
Ms. Li once served a term at Tumuji Forced Labor Camp around 2009 (the length of the term remains to be investigated). The guards didn’t allow her to use the restroom when she had menstrual periods and also shocked her with electric batons.
Ms. Li was arrested two more times, on January 31, 2015 and March 8, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Fu, 52, was given a three-year term at Tumiji Forced Labor camp in 2005 for putting up a sign that said “Falun Dafa is good.” She was beaten, kicked, shocked with electric batons, and deprived of sleep. The guards also humiliated and verbally abused her. They also forced her to do long hours of intensive unpaid labor even when she had an excruciating stomachache.
She was arrested again on December 9, 2017 and detained for 15 days after being reported for giving out Falun Gong materials.
Ms. Sun was arrested on April 12, 2007. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, related materials, and other personal items.
Ms. Sun refused to provide information about other practitioners during interrogation and was beaten by the police.
Officers interrogated her a few more times in the detention center. They also cuffed her hands behind her back and deprived her of sleep. She was detained for a month and extorted out of 4,000 yuan.
