(Minghui.org) I work full-time for a Dafa media which keeps me busy every day. In addition, I am a part of various truth-clarification projects. Just when everything finally started to go smoothly, the “Wuhan pneumonia” broke out, and my overall health fell into an incorrect state. Everything in my life was suddenly disrupted. I realized it was a test. What should I do?
On January 25, 2020, I came down with a headache, and my entire body ached as if my bones were splitting. I had a sore throat, which stopped me from eating or drinking. The incorrect state lasted over a week – a very long week.
Despite the pain, I continued doing the three things. Under Master's protection, I gradually recovered a week later, after diligent Fa study, and doing the exercises.
I then heard about the epidemic in Wuhan. Worried about my family and friends quarantined in China, I joined the truth-clarification phone call project and a texting project.
Seriously Looking Inside
Given what happened to me, I looked inside and found an attachment to ease and comfort as well as slacking off. In addition, I found an attachment to the end of the Fa-rectification. Thinking that I was already busy doing media and Dafa projects, I did not actively participate in truth-clarification to people in China, even though some projects were very easy to do.
I realized that even though I was doing the three things, mentally I felt no urgency when doing them.
Looking further inside, I identified selfishness, and my heart of saving people slacked off day after day.
I also realized that I was complacent with working in the media, and on Dafa projects. I was content with the formality but did not do my best to deliver a perfect performance in either engagement. I realized this pursuit of formality was driven by an attachment to fame and personal gain, which failed to meet Master's requirements of saving people with a pure heart.
The realization was a wake-up call for me. I understood how similar my physical pain was compared to the feelings as described by the "Wuhan pneumonia" victims. It was meant for me to understand their pain of missing salvation, and for me to develop a sense of urgency for saving people.
Master said,
“Hanging in the balance at this dangerous juncture is nothing less than, for Dafa disciples, the wait of tens of millions of years; for our students, your sole, true wish for coming to this world; and for Master, whether he will manage to widely save sentient beings—including all of you—in this Fa-rectification." I came to understand that Dafa disciples' slacking off and pursuit of ease and comfort have caused a large number of sentient beings to miss their chance for salvation, despite how much Master cherished them.
I made a wish that from now on, I will treasure every second of my life. I will cherish every person ,just like Master does us, cherish every opportunity for saving them, and do this with a great sense of urgency in my heart.
Understanding Dafa Disciples' "Going against the Tide"
Amidst the current situation, we should spend some time to reflect on how well we are studying the Fa and whether we have truly obtained the Fa. The new exercise music has been published for over a year; we should examine if we have kept up with the progress of Fa-rectification in terms of doing the exercises.
We started doing face-to-face truth-clarification in 2004, and it has been 16 years now. How are we doing? Have all the sentient beings who put their enormous hope in us been saved?
Master said,
"As divine beings see it, anyone who can resist the mighty current that is pulling this world down and stand his ground is really something. Anyone who is unaffected by it is really exceptional! And yet Dafa disciples are not just unswayed by it all, but moreover, are going against the tide!" ("2018 Fa Teaching Given in Washington, D.C.," Team Yellow Translation)
"You have gone against the strong tides of this world. But things aren’t simply what they seem, if you think about it. The entire cosmos is facing elimination, and everything has deteriorated. Master mentioned “Going against the tide” multiple times. I came to understand that this was an issue of Master's anticipation and requirement for us.
We cannot be swayed by any formality or environmental changes. With righteous thoughts we can do what non-practitioners cannot do; and with righteous thoughts we can make miracles happen.
