(Minghui.org) Three middle-aged men were having a discussion in a park in Hong Kong on April 9, 2020, when a Falun Gong practitioner happened to pass by and overheard one of the men exclaim, “You were in the same room as someone with the Wuhan virus? Wow, you're in trouble now.”
The practitioner, Wendy, walked over to the men and asked, “You mean you were in the same room as someone with the coronavirus?” The three men, Mr. Ho, Mr. Lam, and Mr. Li, turned to look at her.
Mr. Ho had gone to the hospital because he had a lung problem. He was put in the same ward as a patient infected with the Wuhan virus. Because the Wuhan virus has a long incubation period, Mr. Ho was extremely worried that he had been infected, and was still awaiting his test results. His eyes were all red and he looked stressed out.
Mr. Li warned Wendy not to get too close to Mr. Ho. Wendy told them that she practices Falun Gong and was not afraid of catching the virus because she believes the practice gives her a strong energy field. The three men jumped at the mention of Falun Gong. They had been misled by the communist regime's lies and slander and started to repeat some of the bizarre things that they had heard about the practice. Wendy explained to them that Falun Gong teaches people to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and that practitioners are all very kind people.
“You'd better go. Don't waste your time explaining. Ho used to be in the army and he depends on the CCP for a living.” Mr. Li said. Their voices grew louder and they kept saying that Falun Gong was anti-CCP and against the country.
Wendy calmly explained, “I am from China. We love our country, but we don't love the Party. Chinese civilization has a history of 5,000-years that valued benevolence, righteousness, etiquette, wisdom, and faith, but the Communist Party believes in the atheism of Marxism-Leninism. This is incompatible with our traditional culture. I really want to help this man. He is truly in danger.”
Wendy also said, “The Party was founded on lies. Its history is a history of lies. The lies manufactured by the Party are too numerous to count; its resistance against Japan was fake, and its heroes were fake. The information you have received is also fake. But that is not your fault. The reports you have read were published by media that are controlled by the Party, so the information is not true. I hope you will think this over.”
The three men still continued to refute Wendy. “You don't need to speak like that, China is great right now. This virus came from the United States. You still want to say you can save us?” Mr. Li said.
“I heard you talking and I want to help Uncle Ho. Most people would flee upon hearing the words Wuhan virus, but I did not. Please trust me. I'm not a bad person,” Wendy said.
Mr. Ho did not want to listen and said he was going home to boil some medicine.
“That medicine cannot truly help you,” Wendy said. “I don't want any money from you, just patiently listen to me for a minute.”
Mr. Li looked puzzled, “You can really help Uncle Ho?”
Wendy continued, “You don't believe that God exists. Just like air, you can't see God, but God exists. There are many things in this world that you cannot see, but you can't say that they do not exist, right? China has many traditional beliefs encouraging one to be kind, and that in return miracles will happen.”
She went on to give examples of true stories about the virus, where people were blessed after sincerely reciting “Falun Gong is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” She told the men that the people in those stories had maintained their kindness and in the midst of danger sincerely recited those phrases, so Gods and Buddhas had protected them, and miracles occurred.
She took out a paper lotus flower with the phrases on it and encouraged Mr. Ho to recite the words sincerely.
Mr. Ho's eyes were very red, but he squinted with concentration at the words on the lotus flower and looked hopeful. He said: “I will recite the phrases. Will it work?” Wendy assured him that divine beings look at his heart. If he is sincere, they will protect him.
Wendy asked Mr. Ho if he had joined the CCP. When he said yes, Wendy explained to him the importance of quitting the CCP, and he agreed to do so.
Mr. Li was touched by Wendy's efforts and sincerity to help Mr. Ho. “I saw today how kind and considerate Falun Gong practitioners are. I am touched and gained respect for Falun Gong. The man who was in the same hospital room as Ho died from the coronavirus. Everyone wants to keep a distance from Ho, but you stood here for so long. I can see that you sincerely want to help him,” Mr. Li said.
Wendy saw Mr. Ho at the same park on April 13. She asked him if he got his test results back. “I'm fine,” he said and thanked her.
