(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in seven cities or counties in five provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Zhao Jiulong and his wife Ms. Zhang Wenrong were arrested at home by officers from the Lugouqiao Police Station in the Fengtai District on the evening of May 20, 2020. Their home was ransacked, and Falun Dafa books and laptops were confiscated.
They are being held in the Fengtai Detention Center.
Mr. Wang Yuewen from Dingxiang County was arrested by plainclothes officers, and officers from the Dingxiang Domestic Security Division on May 20, 2020. His home was ransacked, and a computer, printer, and Falun Dafa books were confiscated.
Ms. Mao Aiping from Pingyao County was arrested on the afternoon of April 30, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to a detention center.
Ms. Mao was sent to a forced labor camp in December 2000, and was sentenced to an eight-year prison term after being arrested on October 27, 2002.
Officers from the Beipiao City Domestic Security Division and the Xiguan Police Station broke into Ms. Jiao Guijie’s home and ransacked it on May 27, 2020. Ms. Jiao and her husband Mr. Gao Jinli were arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation.
They were later transferred to the Domestic Security Division, where they were interrogated for around three hours. The couple was released after their family paid 4,000 yuan.
Three elderly practitioners, Ms. Yang Yazhi, Ms. Sun Shuxia, and Ms. Zhang Zhiying were followed and monitored by officers from the Zhengyang Police Station on May 25, 2020, after posting Falun Gong materials.
They were arrested several days later, and their homes were ransacked. Ms. Zhang’s DVDs were confiscated.
At the police station, they were interrogated separately, and released at around 1 a.m.
Ms. Sheng Li, 46, was arrested on May 26, 2020, after the police saw her putting up information about Falun Gong on their surveillance cameras. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Gong books and materials were confiscated. The authorities refuse to tell Ms. Sheng's family where she is being held.
Ms. Wang Xiai has been held in the Hedong District Detention Center since her arrest on January 5, 2020. The authorities there have not allowed her family or lawyer to visit her, citing the coronavirus pandemic.
The Yinan County Procuratorate is in the process of indicting her. The prosecutor refused to reveal any information when her family inquired about the case.
