(Minghui.org) A young man in Huili County, Sichuan Province, has been indicted and is facing trial for his faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Luo Longfei began to work at Foxconn in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province after graduating from high school around 2014. Because of telling a company security personnel about the illegality of the persecution against Falun Gong on April 1, 2019, he was reported and detained for ten days. The police followed him to his company on the day of his release and forced him to press his fingerprints on the resignation letter that the company had already prepared.
The police watched him packing up his clothes and sent him off to the train station. They took pictures of him boarding the train and didn’t leave until the train left.
Seeing that he was very dejected upon returning home, Mr. Luo’s mother, Ms. Tan Fang, brought him to meet with several other Falun Gong practitioners on the evening of April 21, 2019. While they were studying Falun Gong’s teachings, a group of over ten police officers broke into the host’s home and arrested the seven practitioners present.
Although all the other six practitioners including Ms. Tan were arrested that night and later released, Mr. Luo remains in custody.
Ms. Tan frequented the Domestic Security Office and procuratorate to seek her son’s release. But the officers replied that they wouldn’t release Mr. Luo unless he gives up Falun Gong. They also blamed him for being a “repeat offender.”
The prosecutor later indicted Mr. Luo and submitted his case to the court.
Mr. Luo was beaten and verbally abused by the inmates in the local detention center. His lawyer filed a complaint against the inmates to the detention center after hearing about it from Mr. Luo while visiting him. The inmates retaliated by pushing Mr. Luo's head into a water tank and threatened to beat him again if he reports the abuses.
While trying to rescue Mr. Luo, Ms. Tan was held at the police station for three hours on October 21, 2019, and then detained for half a month between June 12 and 27, 2020, after the police discovered she'd put slips of paper in the clothes she sent to Mr. Luo that had messages encouraging him not to give up his faith.
