(Minghui.org) To mark the 21st anniversary of their peaceful resistance of the CCP’s persecution, Falun Dafa practitioners across the world held events around July 20.
Falun Dafa practitioners held activities on Liberty Bell Center and in Chinatown on July 18, 2020, to bring attention to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 21-year-long persecution and call for it to end.
They did the Falun Dafa exercises and clarified the truth to passersby at Liberty Bell Center in the morning and in Chinatown in the afternoon. They set up information boards, distributed fliers to tourists, and collected signatures to condemn the persecution. Nearly one hundred people signed the petition and 26 Chinese people renounced the CCP.

Practitioners held an information event in Chinatown on July 18, 2020.
Madeleine Dean, a member of Congress from Philadelphia, wrote to express her support for the event. She condemned the persecution and commended practitioners’ efforts to expose it.
Several practitioners spoke during the event in Chinatown. Shuzhen Tong, who recently came to the United States, talked about the persecution that she was subjected to in China. She was arrested and detained four times and sent to a brainwashing facility for 45 days. Her work unit stopped paying her, but the people who ran the brainwashing center charged her to attend it. After she was released, she was placed under constant surveillance.
“This is a good practice. Very peaceful,” said Ray, who stopped to watch practitioners do the exercises. He said he already knew about the CCP’s state-sanctioned live organ harvesting and had signed the petition to end it. Ray said he likes Chinese culture but the CCP is bad.
A young Chinese man stopped and talked with practitioners during the event in Chinatown. He said he came to the U.S. to attend high school six years ago and is now an undergraduate student. He watched videos about the CCP’s crimes. He said he knew about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong and how the regime covered up the coronavirus in Wuhan.
“I love China, but not the CCP. I quit my membership in the Communist Young Pioneers.” he said.
Practitioners placed banners on their vehicles and drove throughout both of New York's Chinatowns and past the Chinese Consulate on July 18 and 19. The banners stated, “Please help stop the persecution of Falun Gong” and so on.

A convoy of cars drove through Chinatown in Flushing and Manhattan, past the Chinese Consulate, and through Brooklyn. Many people stopped to read the information and took photos.
Rong Yi, Director of the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP, hopes that more Chinese people will quit the Party and its affiliated organizations. She encourages people to join the effort to end the persecution.
