(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Yuanyou was arrested when she distributed Falun Gong materials on September 3, 2018. She was taken to a detention center.
She was tried the first time by the Nanming District Court on June 13, 2019, and was given a three-year prison term. She appealed to the Guiyang City Intermediate Court, which upheld the original verdict without a hearing.
Ms. Li is being held in the Guizhou Province No. 1 Women’s Prison, also called the Yang’ai Prison. Her three-year prison term is dated from September 3, 2018, to September 2, 2021.
Mr. Zi Daoliang and Ms. Li Huizhen were arrested by officers from the Liaotian Town Police Station, Hengnan County, on July 8, 2020. They were held in the county police department.
Ms. Li Huiping, Ms. Gu Yurong, and Ms. Li Yanhua were arrested by officers from the Xunmukou Town Police Station, when they distributed information about Falun Gong on the morning of May 29, 2020.
Mr. Cheng Defu’s case was sent to the Nanchuan District Court by the Nanchuan District Procuratorate on June 23, 2020. They will attempt to try him.
Mr. Chen is from Dianjiang County.
Mr. Lin Shaoqing was arrested at the end of June 2020. His whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Zheng, in her 70s, was reported to the police while distributing Falun Gong materials on the morning of July 7, 2020. She was arrested and taken to the town police station. Later, she was transferred to the Bajiaotang Police Department in the Zhuhui District. She has returned home.
Ms. Fan Yuanyuan is from Taihe County, Anhui Province. She was originally scheduled to be tried in the Pingtai Detention Center, Shangqiu City, Henan Province, on July 7, 2020.
Mr. Ba Wei and Mr. Xi Dongsong from Shangqiu City, Henan Province, were scheduled to be tried as well. Their trials have been postponed.
The three practitioners were arrested on August 29, 2019. They have been held in the Pingtai Detention Center.
Ms. Guo Peilu was arrested by plainclothes officers on July 7, 2020. Her computer and printer were confiscated. She was taken directly to the Yaojia Detention Center by the Xigang Police Department.
Ms. Ji Fengxia and her husband Mr. He Zhongliang were arrested at 11:30 p.m. on July 8, 2020. Their home was ransacked. The details of their arrest are unknown.
Zhao Zhiquan and Yang Mingqi (secretaries of the Yuhe Township Party Committee), and Lu Guodong (the director of a police station) broke into Ms. Liu Fenglan’s home and harassed her. They forcibly took photos of her and recorded the conversations they had with her.
Ms. Wang Huafen and Ms. Li Guiying were arrested on September 16, 2019. They were held in a detention center. They were indicted by the Qingjiangpu District Procuratorate on July 1, 2020. The indictments were brought over to the Qingjiangpu District Court.
Officer Yu from the Xiliu Township Police Station and judicial agency staff members again went to 80-year-old Ms. Liu Suqin’s home and harassed her on June 22, 2020. They attempted to force the elderly lady to transform and give up practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Liu refused. They took her subsistence allowance card.
Ms. Qiu Lin from Jiaohe City was reported to the police when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 9, 2020. She was arrested.
Ms. Liu Fuzhen and Ms. Xue Yanping from Xiaozhaozhuang Village, Baigutun Township, Wuqing District, were reported to the police when they talked to people about Falun Gong at the Gaocun farmers market on the morning of July 7, 2020. They were arrested by officers from the Gaocun Police Station.
Their homes were ransacked, and their Falun Dafa books and personal belongings were confiscated.
Both practitioners were taken to the Wuqing District Detention Center on July 8, for 15 days of detention.
Ms. Li Wei from Huaiyang County was arrested by officers from the Minquan County Domestic Security Division on June 26, 2020. She has not returned yet.
Ms. Yin Lanhua was arrested on July 8, 2020.
